Just bought this camera after looking at the Nikon 7900 and the Fuji F10 so these are my initial impressions. Has wonderful picture quality - great detail and excellent color rendition. Has a longer zoom than both those other cameras, and lots of manual control - which was something I liked. Did not have as much problems with the low light autofocus capability - unlike some others. Problems: The camera seems to reset the image quality spontaneously after I turn it off. I tried to shoot ...

Although I have been using Olympus cameras for over 30 years, this is my first digital camera of any brand. I selected the Olympus C-7000 Zoom because I wanted a full featured camera that was compact enough to carry on my belt while hiking. I've been very pleased with the image quality and ease of use. I did encounter some limitations as noted below. I think these problems are probably mostly the result of compromises made in order to make it so compact. Problems: Problem #1: The battery ...

I was a looking for a compact camera, with a wider zoom range and a resonable image quality. Despite its mixed reviews I went for the C-70, which here was about 50-100€ cheaper than its competitors. What bothered me first were the marketing tricks which, in the case of Olympus, are a little bit more annoying than usual. I know you have to live with non-standard accus, no-standard usb cables and expensive memory cards. But you have to upgrade the Software for 23€ to get the full ...

UPDATED REVIEW - It will be a year in April that I have been using the c-7000, and this amazing little camera has even won me a few photography competitions.. so I am re-posting because some of the things I read here, and elsewhere.. have made me want just say what might be helpful to know, because there are a lot erroneous things being expressed. -POWERING OFF & your SETTINGS - wow !! have I ever seen a lot of comments about this (here and elsewhere). Your individual settings will be ...

Several other posters said this better... With the current rebate pushing this camera to under $350--his bacame a very interesting proposition. I have had 4 Oly's including the C-40 and C-50. I tried this camera twice.. Image quality can be exceptional and one can crop in with very little noise issues. Prints are also silky. I even got used to the strange battery door... What ultimately had me return it was the slow and non-existant low light focus effort. I tried this camera in a reasonably ...

I bought this camera after extensive research at stores & the internet. I'am glad I bought it. It takes great pictures and is small enough to put in my pocket to take everywhere with me. I love macro photography and this camera does a great job at regular and super macro. The quality, sharpness and color of the photos is way better then I could have ever imagined. Now I find myself leaving my slr and all my other cameras behind in favor of the Olympus C-7000. I would buy this camera again. Pr ...

Pros: -Outstanding image quality (color and resolution) at least to 8X10. It has to be seen to be believed that a camera this small can perform like this. -Big optical zoom for it's size, and big apeture lens (f2.8) for such a small camera (point and shoot size). -Intuitive, user friendly controls. I figured out 80% of the controls before I got the manual printed (see Cons). Very ergonomic. Cons: -Slow autofocus in low light conditions. -Manual on CD rom cost $15 to have printed and bound. ...

Awesome little 7mp camera. I already own the C-50, so i'm familiar with most of the camera's features. Sharp detail, very good macro. A real winner... Problems: On/Off button too small Pop Up Flash
