A realistic view: Im not a pro but I believe my opinion is applicable to the majority of users that will buy this camera. I outline the main points... 1. Takes standard AA batteries, I find this to be a very big advantage. Dont listen to all the battery life horror stories. Just puchased mine from UBID.com for $319. It is refurbished but I've bought more than 10 items from them in the past. Luv this camera. Just Love it. This camera is easy to use. Because of the minimal size and weight it's easy to take with you on several occassions. The output really astonished me, with the lowest resolution, you still can print fine, clear photo's. Problems: The first C40Zoom I bought broke down in 4 days. A small and excellent camera, really. If it were any smaller it wouldn't use standard batteries (which is a huge plus), any bigger I wouldn't keep it in my pocket. It is simple to use and the menu system is well thought-out. It has all the features I was looking for and picture quality is outstanding. Revisited 21st December 2005: I have owned the camera since early March 2002. It has some important manual controls that the Stylus 800 lacks, which however is now my main snapshooter. The C-40ZOOM image quality is the same as that of the C-750UZ. I did numerous A3 enlargements for my first exhibition, and many more after. I've had the camera for a month now and I am very pleased! The size of this camera is absolutely great--I am not a professional photographer or anything of that nature, just your casual picture taker so for me being able to put it in a pocket is just fanstastic. I have not had the battery problems as described in this forum. Update on the D40 I've had the camera for about 5 months now. While I appreciate the image quality, I find the flash recharges agonzingly slow. Also the delay time between depressing the shutter button and the pic being taken is too slow. I lose all spontinaity with those aforementioned complaintes. Problems: Camera functions as advertised. My problems are already mentioned.

I come from China,I have owned the gardget for almost 2 months,It's excellent,I like it very much, except for a bit more serious purple fringe, and I have encoutered a problem: if you set mode to Manual,then you can set the aperture and shutter speed freely,but the shutter speed can not reach 1/1000 s,unless the aperture is set to 8.0. you see,in such condition:aperture is 8.0,shutter speed 1/1000 s is useless,you can not take any photos.
