Easy to use camera. Problems: Picture quality was good initially. Now pictures have a magenta tint to them, especially on skin tones.

Not happy at all. My problems are with focusing and exposure (especially in low light but not only) in automatic mode. Colours are washed out with no contrast and everything with a magenta tinge. The camera sets its own focusing point very close to the lens no matter at what distance the subject is. Group photos are terrible with everyone out of focus. Printed photos are definitely not acceptable. I returned the camera to Olympus just before it was out of warranty - they said there was ...

I am a beginner of using Digital camera. I chose Olympus mainly because of the big aperture. Problems: I am happy with the picture quality but I have a very bad experience. After shooting about 400 pictures, I found two dead point on the CCD. Do anyone here has the same experience?

I originally bought the Coolpix 5000 but replace it with the C4040 as I was not happy with the noise introduced with ISO > 100. The C4040 build quality and f1.8 lens is a definite positive. I prefer the NiMh AA batteries as the battery life is excellent (2-3hrs1.8Ah) and incredibly inexpensive. I would have preferred Compact Flash, as the read/write is noticeably slower with SM. Picture quality is great, but I stick to 1024 x 768 so sometimes I wonder why I buy 4mps. I find the 15s movie ...

I have owned the 4040Z for about three months now and have taken about 1000 images on it. I'm reasonably happy with the image quality. I have made full use of the many differet features of the camera. Problems: The lens suffers from marked barrel distortion at the wide angle settings and there is also chromatic aberration evident too at the border between high and low contrast, giving yellow and blue lines in these places of the image. The OM System lenses of thirty years ago didn't suffer ...

I have had camera since Apr 13 after owning a 2100z for a yr, I picked the 4040 so I could use my existing memory and it sounded like a good camera. My 2100 just stopped working, unreliable, 2x in for repair. For this new camera I bought an extended warranty as well. pics are mostly good but how do you turn the flash OFF? Problems: don't know how to turn flash off sometimes inaccurate light metering on auto setting stupid lens cap need lens extender to put filter on, the thing gets in the way ...

I have had the C-4040 since 28 February. I liked the handling. I found some of shots at SHQ slightly soft in focus, under perfectlightig conditions. Problems: Now Olympus has had my camera longer than I have. I found hot and dead pixels on the CCD and sent the camera in for repair on 28 March. Repair lost my warranty docs...then found them, but not before trying to bill me for repairs out of warranty. After three calls to them, and a letter from Oly I find that they are waiting on a part ...

Got this camera for just under 1000 euros and I think its abit high priced but dont forget its a 4mp camera. After searching days and nights mainly on this sight I decided on the c4040 and g2 after holding the 4040 it just felt right, after 3 months I have this to say. I really dont regret getting the 4040 over the g2 much lighter, faster lens etc etc... Love the point and shoot (p) program. Love the Apature program (a) program Good colors. Good macro mode. Love the flash. Taken over 1000 ...
