I purchaced my C-120 just to toy with really. It's the first digital I've owned and I have to say I'm very happy with it. The image quality is on par with most mid range point and shoot 35mm's with a fixed focal length. The only real drawback is it's slow lens ,4.0f-8.0f, it's the camera's one true weakness. The Macro does seem to work on this camera, however the whole concept of trying macro photography with this sort of camera is hopeless. The camera has a good feel to it, some digitals ...View review in forums Leave a comment on this review
Olympus D-380 (C-120)
I've just got my camera in time for Christmas and New Year. I think I was very much influenced by the 64Mb SM card that came along with the C-120. It took some getting used to but now I think I can shoot some acceptable shots with it. The menu is very user-friendly and is suitable for newbies like me. Had to say I might just regret buying this model as there is no optical zoom. Didn't think it was important until I missed it (used to borrow my friend's Sony Mavica with 10X optical zoom). Best of show for a fixed focal length, 2MPx beginner cam. Great $ at chain stores. Purchased for daughter to use in HS to build portfolio for her culinary studies. Simple interface, merely point and shoot. Great for close-ups of cookies and group shots. Fits in pocket, uses AA batteries. Get a 64 MB smart media card, holds ~135 images at highest resolution. Good cam for kids, or grown-ups who use cameras like kids. :-) .... seldom a bad shot. Great battery life. Easy to use interface, ...View review in forums Leave a comment on this review
Camera is light and easy to use. Overall, I am very impressed with the shot-to-shot speed, as well as how fast it takes from turning on and shooting a picture. IMHO, the best feature of this camera is how well it uses up its power. I used a set of Ni-cad batteries for approximately 400+ shots at 1600 x 1200. Problems: My main gripe with the camera was how different the picture displayed on its LCD monitor from my computer. The LCD monitor displays a brighter, better contrasted picture ...View review in forums Leave a comment on this review
This is a very easy camera to use -- the controls are simple and most features require virtually no learning curve. It's sturdy, takes good photos, and is quite compact. The one negative is the lack of optical zoom. This is something, though, that I can live without (at least for the time being). Highly recommended for snapshooters and beginning hobbyists. Problems: This may be a problem with digital cameras in general, I haven't done any experiments. When the batteries were left in the ...View review in forums Leave a comment on this review
