I just got a V2, having had a V1 for more than 2 years, and was surprised to see distortion at wide angles (10mm lens & 10-100mm non PD zoom) when viewing in Aperture & comparing RAW to Jpeg files. When using the V1 with these lenses the RAW and jpeg match, IOW Aperture appears automatically to correct the RAW for distortion when shot with the V1 in the same way View NX2 does. I have the V2's lens correction set to ON. If the same files are opened in View NX2 then both the V1 and the V2 shots...
Well I do a lot of rough hiking and ended up losing the eyecup on my V2. Emailed Nikon and they will not sell me one. I have to send it in so they can fix it by sliding on what they won't sell me. Guessing a couple of hundred bucks for a 5 dollar item. Tried the eye cup from a d5200 and that one is a little small. Perhaps some larger eyecup may work. At this point I am a little frustrated with Nikon. Any one have any suggestions?
What is the opinion of everyone about using the "foot" on the new 1 Nikon 70-300VR CX?? Now, I would have never mounted my V2 with the FT-1 and 70-300VR FX lens on my tripod without mounting it on the FT-1 mounting screw. But for the new 70-300VR CX it seems to me that the lens weight is only slightly over the weight limit of the camera lens mount and Nikon does not officially warn against NOT using the foot...their only comment to me in an e-mail reply is that if I am concerned about the...
Hi, I just upgraded my V2 to firmware version 1.2 (both A and B). I read somewhere that Nikon V2 firmware has some issue that it should not be used to upgrade lenses' firmware. Did Nikon solve this issue already ? Or this is still an issue? Thanks.
Hi, If you remember there were problems with V2's EVF and LCD. The EVF was jerking when panning and both EVF and LCD had red dots in shadow. After a while Nikon solved these problems with a new firmware but what is the situation with V3 ? Is the EVF gives clear and smooth view ? --Cheers János
I am considering getting an AW1 with either a V2 or a V3. If I am correct, each camera requires a different battery and in the case of an AW1 with a V3, different memory cards. I can live with that and I'm aware that the V3 EVF occupies the hot shoe; None of these issues are deal breakers for me. I intend to use the AW1 on vacations in the water and either the V2 or the V3 as a walk-about camera. I currently have a Fuji EX-1 with 35mm and 18mm lenses and several film cameras. I have a couple...
Hello, all! I'm new to DPR and this is my first post, which comes in a question. I (only) own and shoot with three V1's and have most of the glass for the N1 system, like the 32mm 1.2, plus 4 dx lenses. My question is, with regards to image quality, especially sharpness, would the V2 and V3 be sharper than the V1? Let me apologize in advance if this question seems absurd or if it's been covered before. Thank you!
After letting my Contax G lenses sit unused for quite a few years, I got myself an NEX-6 and the Deo-Tech adapter v2. I have the 28, 45, and 90, so it seemed to make sense to get one adapter that would work easily with all three. The adapter isn't perfect, but the autofocus works reasonably well. I often end up using it in manual focus, which is also easy to use. I haven't touched my DSLR since I got my NEX, and I'm having so much more fun taking pictures. However, I've been a problem. The...
