Opinion: I get to use my DX lenses
Opinion: I eyed the D90 as soon as it came out. But I already had Canon and Pentax gear. After having left Canon for good, waiting for Pentax to come out with something like the K-7 but with the same sensor, and trying out my friend's D90, it was about the right time to go back to a dual system. Pictures from this camera still hold up well when compared to current offerings. Despite having waited two years after its release (can you believe this model will soon be four years old?), it still felt like a new model when I got it, which says a lot about it.
Problems: Accessing some settings/features feels more complicated than it should be.
Opinion: My brand new Nikon D90 running on original battery shows no battery meter .
When I went to check it in the menu the Battery Info is disabled it says cannot view info in these settings .
Later I checked on the info screen found out an AC Indicator instead .
Please someone who has faced this before can help , or any suggestions .
Thank You !
Regards
Nevon
Problems: NO Battery Indicator !
Opinion: An excellent camera for the price. Has a very nice build quality, a big viewfinder, a lot of buttons (unlike low-end SLRs), internal autofocus motor, a good battery and a second LCD. The kit lens is pretty good too. I've been using it for almost half an year and I love it.
Problems: Live view autofocus is quite slow. Also the video quality could be better and could have full-time manual control and autofocus. But since I rarely shoot videos I don't care a lot about this.
Opinion: I have had it for more than a year now and I can tell that it's a solid and reliable camera. Coming from Nikon D40 was an upgrade but not a huge one. What i like is the freedom it gives you up to ISO3200, a more predictable matrix metering with ADL on.
When I bought it I was nervous about 12 M. Well it was not too bad. The noise is well controlled and the blur is not such a problem. Still I have to use 1/6 s instead of 1/4 s to get a sharp picture @ 16 mm (with VR on).
What was useful to me as an upgrade were the flash control, the more customizable ISO Auto (up to 1/2000 s triggering shutter speed), the additional buttons, and that the self timer is sticky.
As nice features I count the top LCD, two dials, the better main LCD, the viewfinder.
Problems: Nothing to bother me.
Opinion: I've used Canon and Nikon DSLRs particularly the Canon 7d
and the Nikon D90.. Nikon takes sharp images during
daylight situations, while Canon can manage a better image
in low light or indoor settings. Im not posing as an expert
in these matters but this is the reason i kept both cameras
for their strengths and weaknesses.. Having kept both
cameras gives me the best of both cameras at different
conditions..
Problems: The only problem i have with the D90 is the night shots..
without the aid of the flash skin tones tend to go gray and
noisy for me.. again it might be user error, but im talking of
the camera out of the box with stock settings.
Opinion: I have the D40 and D200 and recently added the D90 to my collection.
I found it far easier to learn than the D200 and I am getting the same results.
I like its size. The D200 is just a tad too big for me.
I don't use the video.
I really like this camera
Problems: Once the camera went haywire with everything freezing up. Removed battery, restarted the camera and all ok.
I have had no issues since
Opinion: Awesome for still photography. However, the video quality
is abysmal unless you spend lots of time (and money for
special manual aperture lenses) avoiding all the pitfalls.
Problems: Video is hard to shoot well with this camera. Average
random video shooting results in very poor quality footage.
No high FPS mode, only 24p which limits creativity.
Opinion: I have always been impressed with my D40 performance & pic quality, but now I'm even more impressed with the D90.
Easy to operate & handle. Quick, accurate focus and a host of custom settings available.
I would recommend to any one!
Problems: None so far
