I currently have a d7000 and want to upgrade to the d7100.  I have read some reviews on bhphoto that suggest the the kit lens:18-140 is not a good lens.  I am not a professional photographer so maybe I am worrying too much about a few reviews.  I have a 70-300 lens that I will be keeping but need a shorter lens as well.  If you think I shouldn't get the kit lens I would appreciate suggestions on what to get instead.

Coming up on my 2 year warranty expiry and my camera failed for the second time today. By fail, I mean the camera shows ERR on the LCD and will not write photos to the SD card. The lens mechanism "sort of" activates, but it sounds bad. The camera body has been treated like a newborn baby; it is in pristine condition. The first failure was only 4 months ago when it did the same thing at exactly 20 000 camera actuation's. Today it is at a less suspicious actuation of 1830. So on Monday I will...

Guys, I want to buy mid range SLR. From what I heard from my friend, Pentax is actually very good for lower price (especially the 2nd hand). In some countries, 2nd hand is only €400ish Now my question is, providing the price is the same, which 1 is better K-3 or 70D or D7100? I dont take video, and mostly I go take pictures in the city How about the lens quality, for example I like my friend's Sigma 18-35 Art on Canon, how is the Pentax premium lenses in comparison with Sigma Art series,...

Hello everyone. I'm a happy D200 user but I need the great high iso performance and IQ that a FX camera can offer. I mainly shoot outdoors but last year I began to shoot music shows and contemporary dance. When the D750 came to the market for the first time I though "that is the camera that I want". But to be honest the banding problem is not acceptable in any way. One important problem is that I'll buy the new camera on the grey market due to that the official seller has prices that are more...

I saw a very interesting feature on the D7100 - monochrome with a single color on a selected item. Can you do that on a D610? I asked this question in another forum, but got no response. If anyone can answer this question I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I am a looking for a way to travel into the backcountry with my camera gear on overnight trips, but I am having trouble finding a way to carry my gear with me. I just bought a Tamron 150-600 and I use a d7100 body with a couple of other much smaller lenses. Does anyone know of a way I can backpack with the Tamron 150-600 and my other gear?

I bought a D3300 Nikon to rekindle an interest in photography, but I'm having issues.  Almost all of the images are out of focus to some degree and it doesn't seem to be lens, shutter speed, or aperture dependent.  Both the auto-focused and manually focused scenes look tack sharp in the viewfinder and I get the green light from the rangefinder, but they look VERY soft or unfocused when I view the files in Lightroom. I shoot in RAW, but JPEGS are the same. Is this typical of "entry level"...

Recently purchased a D7100 and been shooting outdoor lacrosse games the last couple weeks. Last week I tried to go from Aperture mode (no problem with shutter in "A" ) to Manual mode but keep getting the "x250" limitation as my max shutter speed. (Flash sync speed). The manual says you can adjust shutter up to 1/8000 but it inst allowing me to.   I have tried to figure out what I'm doing wrong (setting?) but cant. I may have to shoot indoors this weekend so obviously need to figure this out...

Well, I knew it was too good to be true.  My "new" refurbished D7100 developed a problem tonight. I had the Nikon 18-200mm lens on and it wouldn't come off.  I wiggled it "gently" a few times while pressing down on the button and managed to get the lens off after several tries.  I then checked other lens and now they won't lock.  I noticed the pin to lock the lens is now flush with the camera mount ring.  I guess my options are: Return camera from where I bought it and request another...
