After a few years away from photography as a novice with a d-70 I am considering jumping back in with a refurbished d7100, a Nikon 50mm prime, the tokina 11-16. I already have a Nikon 70-300vr and a tamron 90mm. I hope to shoot family and landscape. Any input on the tokina and the 50mm prime and the 7100 are appreciated. Is this kit a good starting point for a hobbyist

Hi everyone, I am going on a 10 days vacation to Europe with my wife. My plan is to visit Paris, Luzern/Interlaken (Switzerland), Venice and Rome. I am debating on the lenses to take with me for the trip without sacrificing much photographically while maintaining a decent weight and not attracting too much public attention. I have the following gear with me: Nikon D7100 Nikon D70 Nikon 12-24mm f/4 DX Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 Nikon 50mm f/1.8D Nikon 85mm f/1.8G Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G SB600...

I'm going on a short road trip and would like to take along both my Nikon D7100 and D3300. I'm trying to lighten my load a bit and was wondering is there some sort of battery charger that would accomodate both batteries for cameras. I want to take two bodies as I will be attending the Atlantic Nationals which is one of the biggest hot rod/car shows in Canada. On my D3300 will have my Bower 8mm lens and the D7100 will have my Nikkor 18-105...

Hi, I'm looking for a good CPF for use with my D7100 and Nikon 16-85mm (67mm thread) and Tokina 11-16mm (77mm thread). I've read as many threads as I can on this forum and am struggling to make a decision. I am in the UK and prefer not to buy from abroad. I'd rather buy quality than cheap although I like anyone I like value for money. As I want to use the filter on both lens I need a step up ring (67mm - 77mm) and I see people recommend brass adapters and someone even said B+W adapters are...

Bought a D7100 about 2 years ago, from B&H, and to charge battery I use the charger directly on the power outlet, until today I realized that the extension supplied can not be plugged on the charger , there is no receptacle. Is this normal for US or a mistake on the items supplied on box ? thanks --http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3642/3583007051_10454f8a2f_o.jpg

Hello everyone! When reviewing my image thumbnails some of them are blank with a red square and red "X" inside the square. Also, if I try to zoom in on the image I get a message stating "cannot find the image file." Have any of you D7100 users experienced this issue and if so, how did you resolve it? I shoot in both RAW and jpeg format with the 2nd slot as an overfill. Maybe I should designate slot 1 for RAW files and slot 2 for jpeg files? Could this issue maybe be related to deleting...

Besides, going from a super wide (D7100) to ultra wide (D810) from a FOV perspective, suspect that lens would perform better on the D810 vs. my D7100.  (i.e. Not giving up anything by putting the 14-24 on the D810?) Putting it another another way, has anyone that has tried this lens on both bodies, decided that it does NOT belong on the D810?

Hi all, Sorry - new to the forum, so apologies if this is the wrong place to ask the question. I've just taken possession of a new D7100, which is fantastic, however I don't seem to be able to change the f-stop? I've tried two lenses (both standard dx f mount, which both worked perfectly with my old D5100), but on both manual, and aperture priority I get nothing when I use the wheel. Has anyone had this "problem" or is it just some strange setting I'm not able to find? Thanks, steve

Hello;         I've thought of adding the Nikon grip to my D7100? I have a grip on my D700 better FPS, and on my D200 extended batt.life. Plus all my cameras have the "L" grips with or without the grip.My D7100 has a RRS "L" bracket and I like it a lot, but I'm wondering is the grip a asset to the D7100? batt. life is good and no increase in FPS, so is there a clear advantage of the grip?  Thanks for comments. My D90 does not have a grip.   "Dog house riley"
