I upgraded from the D3200 (which I still have) a few months ago when I read early reviews about it's expanded feature list, articulated screen and reporteddly superior new chip. I am ready to say that I am very pleased with this camera in all the above mentioned areas. The imagequality of the out of camera .JPG's is very pleasing, and the 24 mb resolution means I can crop panoramas without the need to stitch. I find the video quality at 25fps to e very good, have not yet tried the HDMI ...

I will be brief. It might be that I'm wrong in my opinion because this is my first DSLR. Pros: (1) It's not heavy (2) Functionally rich (3) Very handy if you have nice bag (4) No complains on image quality. (5) Video quality is great. Cons: (1) The design of the buttons are not ergonomic. It is hard sometimes to switch either focus points or other settings.

i am tossing between the 650d 18-135 STM and d5200 18-105 VR. i went to Ted's Camera and played around with both for a while. The sales consultant was very helpful and didnt mind. What really surprised me was the speed of the auto focus on the Canon STM system. In real life lower light use, the focusing speed was much much faster and quieter on the Canon. It also did not require AF assist, whereas the d5200 struggled a bit more and the AF assist light came on more often when focusing on the ...

I bought my Nikon D5200 6 days ago from a local big box retailer. I paid $1229 for a bundle on sale including the D5200, 18-35 Kit Zoom and the 55-300 telephoto zoom. This is my first real DSLR, so keep that in mind as you consider my comments. I still have and use the following cameras: Minolta Maxxum 3Xi 35mm SLR film camera, Fujifilm Finepix s6000fd, and Olympus Pen E-PL1. I have been in the market for several months reading all the reviews, forums, blogs, etc. that I could get my hands ...

Just received new D5200 today body only from Amazon UK- using it with Nikon 35mm 1.8 mm lens and is a good combination. Fast quiet and light weight. The autofocus is quick to lock on and flash is well balanced with minimal overexposures. So far only playing about with camera inside but will try it out on New Year's Day outside. Not a big video user but it works quickly and takes good videos with reasonable sound Reminds me of the D7000 but lighter weight and hinged LCD is useful and ...

Like the others who have rated/reviewed this camera before it has actually shipped, meaning that the review is based on specs and sample images posted by Nikon or some other company, I have to say that my "review" is based on the fact that I am expecting this camera to retail for $1,000 at launch (probably $995 or $899 on the street). With that in mind, if it comes on the market for a couple hundred dollars less than that, I would give it an extra star. Like other people here, I have not ...

From the .jpg I downloaded, I can say without any doubt that Nikon has done a great job with this Nikon D5200 : http://www.nikon-image.com/products/camera/slr/digital/d5200/sample01.htm It will hit very hard the competitors, for sure! Thank you Nikon! I was about to buy a new camera, this one will be the one I will pick. I had before Canon 20D, 30D, 40D and 5D. I like Canon too, but this Nikon 5200, I think is simply better. To test these samples published on the Japan site, try in Photosoph ...
