Opinion: OK, folks, so now I have one. I did ask that the previous "review" be deleted as it was a case of "little fingers" getting where they shouldn't have.

The camera - only one word can describe it "Fantastic". It is so responsive its a bit like having a manual focus film camera; you focus and then press the shutter and its instantaneous. This feels the same but without the hassel of focussing.
Exposure is absolutely correct and I have not yet fooled it, I have tried, but not too hard.
Flash exposure seems to be mostly correct.
Its a bit heavier than my previous camera, a KM7D, but I prefer that as it helps to steady things.
I did buy the Nikon 18-200 with it as a general purpose lens, but I am now concentrating on getting some better glass.

Problems: None so far

Opinion: Philip - what's the point of your entries? Don't like Nikon or are you just bored?
Have you been in the same room as the D2Xs?? I think not. Whether it's your personal cup of tea or not, it's a good camera and warrants more than the "3's" you've given it.

Opinion: Great Camera for the Professional!

In a hectic studio, you need a camera that is able to shoot quality photographs
consistently. I like the D2X because it is rugged and it get's the shot the first time.
I have used other cameras in the past and I've found them to be hard to use.
Nikon is very straight forward and delivers quality shots.

I also purchased the wireless transmitter; which allows the pictures to be sent to my
computer the instant that they are taken. This is great for my assistant because he
is able to monitor the photographs as they are taken and fix anything that my be
wrong on the fly. The customer also likes to see the shots immediately and I don't
have to waste time transferring them off of a media card to the computer.

There are so many features that I can't go into all of them, but I think it's a great
camera.

Opinion: Using the D1x for 4 years this new Camera the D2xs is fantastic, use a minium of a 4g card as the files are big in Raw use capture nx and get the best out of the 12million sensor ... this is a really beautiful top end camera that is built for and used by professional and advanced shooters everywhere... Get 5 Stars from me

Problems: At present you need Nikon Capture NX (which is a fab software package) to view the raw files. Adobe are working on a raw plugin for the Nikon D2xs
