Hi, I have an upcoming event at there was a desire to set up a small studio for family portraits. There is a carnival - masquerade event and possibility to shoot single portraits and groups or 2-4-6 people. I have to set up lighting. What power should be enough: Profoto D1 Air systems of 500/1000 W - 2 strobes, stands, triggers, etc Multiblits Profilux - 2x400W - 2 strobes, stands, triggers, etc How much power do I actually need? If I intend to replace background in post processing, should...
All, I'm having an issue with the custom white balance feature on the new Sony A7RII, but did not have this issue with my previous A7R and A7II. Can you check to see if you are having the same issue with the A7RII and any strobe setup? Below is how I set the white balance. Let me know if I'm doing it wrong. I'm trying to set the Custom 1 white balance using Profoto D1 strobes. I would go into manual mode, set the shutter to 1/160, set ISO to 100 and go to the Custom Setup for white...
Hi, A customer has a Nikon D3, while it's capable of some decent pictures they often require tweaking, esp. when using jpeg. We need to shoot a big amount of product pictures (denim), we would like to use jpeg mode as there are a lot of images and we would like to upload directly to the database. We've tried many settings with the D3 but colors are not great, pictures look ok but not when compared to the SD1 (which is mine, not the customer's camera) or the actual product. The SD1 seems to be...
I am using two Profoto D1 Air 500 in my studio. I haven't used them for quite some time, however now I will need them more intensively. In my latest shootings I used my x-rite Color Checker, and also another grey card for white balance. Although the flash heads are the only light source in the room (model light), when setting the white balance afterwards in Lightroom I end up with only 4900K with the softboxes installed, and around 5150K without them. Also switching off the model lights does...
I used D3S and now D4S, but a situation often bother me. I often shoot sport and animal theme using thumb pushing the AF-ON with 51 points 3D tracking AF-C, then firing the sutter release with my index finger when I find the right moment. My thumb won't leave the AF-ON even after continous shots, so I can keep tracking on the subject and wait another right moment. I suppost this to be a common usage of D3/D4 series, to seperate the autofocusing and shutter release in different buttons. Here...
