I am confused with what I read about Nikon batteries and third party products. I have a P7100 and a D5200 both with the latest F/W. They both use EN-EL14 and the two batteries work fine on either camera as expected. 1. I am looking to buy a spare battery to act as a spare for both cams and I find EN-EL14 and EN-EL14a (Amazon) What is the difference between the two and which one should I go for? 2. Are there any third party batteries (proven to work on the above cams) that you can recommend as...
My sb-400 works perfectly with my P7100 and P7800, but it doesn't work at all with my new P7000. I bought the P7000 from keh. Actually I bought a P7000 in EX+ and the sb-400 didn't work with it so I sent it back. This one is the replacement also in EX+ and the sb-400 doesn't work with it either. Neither does my sb-600 or sb-300 all of which work with my other Nikons and should work with the P7000. I'll contact keh on Monday, but I was hoping someone here could help.
Hi Longer time lurker here, but first time poster. I suspect this has been asked and answered, but so far I haven't found an answer. I've been using LR 4.4 for some time. Still very much in learning mode.I also have the Photoshop Elements and Premier elements bundle, but do not use them much. I've a new Sony a6000 which isn't supported by LR 4 and it's time to bite the LR 5 upgrade bullet. So .. I can upgrade to perpetual LR 5 license for $79 US, or I can by the $9.99 subscription. What...
Hi all. I have a P7100, bought as a possible replacement for my nice but a bit dated Coolpix 8400. In a lot of ways, it's a nice camera. I like the overall design, the controls at one's finger tips and the excellent lens. And the viewfinder, which even if you have to guess a bit with framing, at least tells you you're pointing the thing where you want to. I should mention that I'm almost entirely interested in landscapes. As far as compacts are concerned I want something to stick in a...
Nikon owners, will it always be the case with the P7100 and maybe other or all Nikon's that the lens will be smudged and have an imperfection when it arrives new in the OEM box? Three P7100s later, (all ordered from WalMart within about 2 weeks) two have smudged and imperfect lens. I did not check the first so carefully, so it might also fall into this disappointing category. Number one did have a playback mode problem so it went back too. The two P7100s with lens flaws have something...
I need some info on lens cleaning. First let me explain the situation. I am waiting on my 3rd P7100 to arrive. The first two had defects, namely, a play back problem on the first one and lens problems on the second one. Number 2 has a speck in or under the glass which I find unacceptable since when I sell it, I will have to declare to the prospective buyer. It's other problem is a finger print and a foggy coating on the lens. The problem started when I found a smudge on the lens and tried to...
My brand new P7100 camera changes from rotated vertical view back to horizontal if you enlarge and try to move around in the image. Before I reset all settings, it was even worse. The image, under the above described conditions would turn horizontal with tiny horizontal lines. It also had 3 pale images. Surely this is not normal. My other cameras do not do this. Nikon is sending an update to the firmware version. Present version is P7100 V1.0. Any help will be...
At work we have a P7100 for taking "mug shots" and other mundane things. Because I was given a limited budget, I bought a non-dedicated Sunpak flash and made a diffuser for it to improve the quality of the pictures. Everything works fine… except for a quirk in the system that I'm unsure if it's due to a camera limitation or user ignorance. With the flash mounted on the hot shoe, I cannot get it to fire unless the built-in flash has been extend so that it is firing also. I tested my SB-400...
The issue is going mountain trekking with camera and spare batteries. Certainly hope to keep camera (Nikon P7100) and batteries (EN EL 14) from freezing overnight ( they go into the sleeping bag ), but do the batteries lose charge if they get cold or simply don't produce much juice WHEN they are cold? In the old days I kept film in the freezer for storage. ... and I think they recommended same for alkaline AAs. Dreamin'? --Marabou Muddlerhttp://MMuddler.smugmug.com/Sports
