Yesterday when I checked, Amazon showed only one AW1 for sale, and every color and kit was back-ordered or out of stock at B&H.Did Nikon have a short manufacturing run, quality control problems, or did they create a shortage to keep prices high?'Tis the season for a waterproof camera (in the northern hemisphere).

Does anyone know why Amazon has stopped carrying the AW1 after only a few months? This is a very unusually short length of time for Amazon. Even if something better were just around the corner, Amazon usually will overlap the sales period (for example, the Pany FZ150 kept on long after the FZ200 came out). I was thinking of getting the AW1, but now I'm having second thoughts. Does this discontinuance mean that there is a problem with the AW1?

Does anybody know if it is possible to synkronize multiple AW1? Since the AW1 has a max frame rate of 60 fps without AF my hope is  that multiple cameras can be sync'ed at that speed with full res --http://www.antarctic.dk

I have a question that I would like to open up to the rest of my fellow Nikon 1 photographers. I've recently purchased the AW1 one lens kit and am quite happy with its performance. I did not get the two lenses kit due to lack of availability. I had originally wanted to get both lenses for the system though. Now that I've played with the 11-27.5mm lens on the AW1 for about a week or two, I'm wondering if there would be any benefit in getting the prime AW lens (10mm). What do you guys think? I...

hey all -- I would like to get my new husband a camera to take on our upcoming honeymoon. He is a nikon kinda guy and generally shoots concerts using a D300 with a whole host of lenses. He also has a Fuji X100 as a 'point and shoot' for walking around town etc. I know that he will likely end up taking both of these camera away with us (cambodia and thailand - everything from off road motorcycle tours to snorkeling) but I would like to buy him something in a lower price range for the...

Hello all, I'm the owner of a Canon PowerShot S100 that I bought for its pocketable size and built-in GPS. This is a nice little camera, but it's quite weak in low light conditions. Too slow even if I don't need a very fast camera; too much noise; etc. What I'm looking for is a camera (any size) with built-in GPS and (much) better low light performance, especially regarding noise and dynamic range. Here's what I would call my shortlist : Nikon 1 AW1 Nikon Coolpix P520 Sony Cyber-shot...

Hello fellow photographers! I've been checking out the Nikon 1 AW1 and the fact that it is water sealed is a great bonus, but I'm not convinced when it comes to some things. I want to use the camera for photo and filming (50/50).  I tested a AW1 in the store and discovered that it doesn't have a manual focus ring, probably because of the water sealing, so how can I change the focus during filming? Is the only option to use the buttons in the top right corner? If so, the footage will probably...

I am looking for a smaller mirrorless camera for shooting in multiple different settings...but mainly I want to find the right combination of camera and lens options for taking night time concert photos with varying distances (I would like the option to get the whole band or a single subject) My current point and shoot Nikon AW100 does not cut it at night without the flash for concert pics.  I could find another point and shoot but I figured that with some of the entry level mirroless systems...
