View review in forums Leave a comment on this reviewThis lens suits me even better than before with my D700. I mostly use it for studio use but I would not be hessitent to use it outdoors too for portraits. Great versatility and sharpness- its a charm to know I can open up to 2.8 and still have sharpness. View review in forums Leave a comment on this reviewThis lens is very sharp, with the D700 image quality is excellent. The lens speed, combined with low-light noise control in the D700, allows me to expand the brightness range in landscape images for a more natural look (fewer blocked-up shadows), and to shoot hand-held images in shade or overcast at reasonably high shutter speeds. Problems: At my age, I would love to carry less weight! When I backpack, even minimizing weight of tent and gear, the camera+lens adds hefty pounds.
