Hi, I am using Nikon d3200 with Kit lense(18-55). Now its time to go for some lense which could serve all-in one purpose. Mainly for landscape, mountain and also bird photography. I am confused between 50mm prime lense and 55-300 VR lense. How is Tamron 18-200 or Tamron 70-300. Please suggest at your earliest convenience. Thanks and Best Regards. Santosh
Hello everyone, Hope you are well. I am thinking of getting a J5, and was thinking of using it with FT-1 and a telephoto lens (not purchased yet). I have Nikon D810 as well, so I can think of two options that I can go for. Option 1: Nikon J5 + Nikon 1 70-300mm lens (Effective reach 810mm) Option 2: Nikon J5 + FT-1 + Sigma 150-600mm sports (Effective reach 1620mm) Option 1 is cheaper and small, lighter. Option 2 will give me double the reach but it will be a lot heavier not to mention more...
Newbie requesting advice re sharpness at distance. I would be grateful for some advice re whether I should be expecting more from my X20 . I'm very happy with the photos it produces of people/foreground but any landscape shots look smeared/blurry . I understand that the camera is best at f2.8-f5, I've set the iso at 100, switched off the face recognition, and even used the manual focussing set at infinity. at the long end. autofocus set to area, focussing on the large hotel still focussing...

Hi, I noticed that many photographers use the Nikon 1's VR 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 for birds mostly and wildlife. What other subjects have you guys/gals used this very long focal-length lens for? I'm curious as a possible future Nikon 1 V4 buyer.. http://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product/nikon1-lenses/1-nikkor-vr-70-300-f%252f4.5-5.6.html On the side note, do you think Nikon or some third-party will make even longer lens (>300mm) for Nikon 1 camera system??
Hi I Have a newly purchased Nikon 1 70-300mm lens which when either not mounted on the camera or when mounted powered off has a noise from the internals which is a lens element on rails sliding up and down as the lens is tilted front to back, but when the camera is powered on the element is stable and the noise does not exist. I'm having no end of trouble finding out if this is normal or not any help would be appreciated.

I bought into the Nikon 1 system a while ago when Amazon had one of those super sales of the day that offered the J2 plus the 10-30mm. and 30-110mm. zooms very cheaply. An impulse buy! I considered it kind of a fun diversion from my DX photography, but not much more. Then I received the 18.5mm. lens as a gift and found it to be fanstastic for low light work. Finally, I talked myself into getting the 70-300mm. zoom, based on the quality of images I saw on Flickr taken by that lens. I have...
