On this Thursday, I promised some of my classmates that I would shoot my school's first junior varsity basketball game. Except I don't ever shoot sports. I thought I would use this as an opportunity to expand my range. I usually shot a few portraits and people, if you count school events. I might be able to snag a seat up front but there are no guarantees because I would have to ask the coach first.  I have a nikon 55-300mm lens with a very small aperture range, its f4.5-5.6, so it isn't...

Hi i was wondering if its worth trading my dx gear for full frame I would be trading D7100 with Nikon 35mm 1.8 Nikon 17-55 2.8 Sigma 50-150 2.8 Nikon 10.5 fish eye 2.8 Nikon 50-300 f4:5 Nikon 40mm macro 2.8 For a D800 , nikon 24-70mm and 50mm 1.8 I shoot all types and i mainly use the 17-55 and 35mm 1.8 often. So is full frame really worth trading my DX family for.

Can anyone confirm that the Nikon 55-300mm VR has a max aperture of f5 at 200mm? This is claimed on Ken Rockwell's site, but I want to make sure as otherwise I would prefer to get the 55-200mm. --Dpreview Auto image-resizer for Firefox :http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/105066Chrome version here:http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/105067

Hi everybody, first of all thanks to taking time to read this and your help. After reading lots of reviews and specifications I was ready to purchase a D5200. However, I then found a good sale for a D7000, so right now my options would be: 1) D5200       + 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 AF-S VR (kit lens)       + 55-300mm 4.5-5.6 AF-S VR or 2) D7000       + 18-105mm 3.5-5.6 AF-S VR (kit lens)       + 70-300mm 4-5.6G AF Guess you already know specs of each camera, pros of each of one for me are: 5200:...

Just got my new Nikon  55-300mm AF-S VR ED lens. I understand that this lens is not good for low light photography. But on a bright sunny day I can hardly see the subject in the view finder. Its too dark. Is this normal? The auto-focus is also not working, Even in the full auto mode it keeps on focusing for my half press on the shutter button and then wont let me complete my click.I am left clue less here as this is my first zoom lens and not sure whether this is normal. Looking forward for a...
