I have had 6 or 7 Nikon cameras, including my D200. The S630 is without a doubt the worst Nikon I have ever used. The picture quality is terrible for most shots. I took the camera on a trip to New Orleans, shot maybe 250-300 pictures over the week-end, and have probably dumped all but 20-30 pictures. small & black, sleek & stylish, lovely curves, easy to use... very sexy camera baby, yeah! HOWEVER, it shoots rather mediocre pictures. my webcam has taken better shots than this S630. i was quite let down actually, especially considering it's a Nikon. btw, all pics were taken on a bright sunny day, but they still look like crap. I first tested my new Coolpix S630 indoors. The results were impressive. Today I took the Coolpix S630 to Jones Beach to continue testing. I am no longer favorably impressed. Problems: After about 10 minutes I put the S630 back in my pocket and gave up trying to compose photographs on the monitor screen. I swore never to part with my six year old Canon S400.
