This is my first digital camera and I fell in love with it right at the beginning. Pros: very easy to use (no need for manual) nice look and huuuuuge LCD screen makes great close-ups and nature shots battery life is pretty good, no complaint there Problems: The "party indoor" option works well when you have only electric light - colors come out very real then (they seem a little unrealistic if done with the regular option) but if the hand is not steady, the picture may come out blurred. Thank ...

I got this camera for my birthday last year because my Sony Digital camera was old and outdated. I thoguht the camera was great, but I absolutely do not like it now. My LCD screen has permanent lines and is grainy all the time (and this happened after only one month of use, which because there is no view finder, makes taking pictures a real chore. The LCD screen is big, but I wish there was a viewfinder. Image qualtiy is poor in low lighting and the picture qaulity over all is just not ...

Yes, I had problems with camera shake when I first used the S1, but you have to learn to keep it steady and not move the whole camera when pressing the shutter release. Not having a viewfinder took some getting used to, as my first digital compact, a Pentax Optio 330, had one which I always used. Younger members of the family always used the screen to compose a shot, and so, took to the S1 more readily. Now that I've got the hang of it, the S1 goes everywhere, and consequently gets the shots, ...

Picked this one up from Comet's for £119.00 reduced to clear, it was complete with all accessories as well. I disagree with the comments about the poor picture quality on this camera - as most of the pictures I take are for online auction listings I am amazed by the macro capability - the flash throttles down well so you get no burnt out areas. Absolutely pin sharp. With less than perfect eyesight the 2.5" screen is a bonus. Be assured I have had MANY more expensive cameras than this with ...

Since picture quality is the absolutely most important thiing about a digital camera, I will not recommend this to anybody. It's far too much noise on the pictures which becomes even more annoying on prints. I have owned this camera for a few weeks and I'll sell it as fast as I can and get an Ixus. Far better picture quality. I also own a Canon Powershot S70, but needed a more portable camera. Problems: Picture quality Light sensitivity

A nice looking camera with a bright huge lcd screen, warning you for blurry pictures. And you get blurry pictures for this tiny camera is way too slow. Not of the fine quality of the 3700, 5200 and 7900. Problems: Far too slow. Blurry pictures

I bought the S1 in response to its appealing form factor and design. If I had read further about its limitations, I might not. Picture quality is diappointing. 50 ISO is the only setting where noise is not problematic. At 50 ISO the "shake" warning blinks under almost all circumstances except on a fully sunny day. And well it should... it is almost impossible to hold this camera steady enough to get a sharp photo under cloudy conditions or inside. I have decided that for cameras of the ...

Nice camera, I bring it every where I go, and must say sorry to my ex-Nikon CoolPix 5700. Problems: the flash is alway too strong for most case. People who not used to it always comes out with blur image, because pressing the shutter button = pressing the whole camera.

Pictures come out decent but not exceptional for the discerning photographer. Nice packaging of the camera. I like the looks, small size, easy, intuitive controls, many scene modes. Battery life is acceptable but not the leader in this class, you can get a second for very cheap off of ebay. I have the WP-CP5 underwater case and have used it scuba diving once with the underwater scene mode, it performed well. Problems: After using this camera for two months, I find it has more than the ...
