Just curious if any P7700/P7800 owners are using the Gorillapod "hybrid" tripod. If so, does leaving the quick release plate attached to the camera conflict with the battery door opening? I was considering purchasing one but I don't want to have to remove the plate every time I want to access the battery or SD card. Regardz, RobBobTom

Just got a used Nikon P7700 (nearly new, strap had never been put on it). I cannot get the level indicator to show on the display even though I found it under monitor settings and turned it on. Neither the bar type which I prefer nor the compass type will show on the display. Any help will be appreciated greatly. Also, my firmware version is 1.0. What advantages would I experience from installing v1.2 and v1.3 ? --Christian Amateur Photographer

I've been using a 2004 PowerShot A95 for nature photography, most often mushrooms at ground level in forest environments. Here is what I'd like to upgrade to: RAW Flip-out LCD, absolute must when working on the ground Macro distance <5cm Better quality images <$400 The Nikon Coolpix P7700 looks like the best candidate. I considered the Canon SX50, but the camera body is too large to fit in the tight spaces I typically use it. The sample image will give you an idea of what I'm currently...

I have just bought a Nikon p7700.  The airplane like the one for time zone change appears in the LCD screen all of the time.  It is not hurting anything, but I would like to remove it.  I can clear the screen with the disp button except for the airplane.  I have tried working with the time zones with no results.  Thanks for the help.  Strobee

HiI'm new to photography and have purchased a Nikon P7700 to learn with and I would like to know if the the sensor can be damaged by IR assist light ?. I took a few indoor shots of my son in front of a large mirror and as I zoomed in to 200mm the Assist light came on, reflected off the mirror back down to the lens and resulted in a huge white light hitting the sensor. I have read that sensors can be damaged by extreme bright light so is it possible I have done some damage ?. Sorry if it is a...

Hi everybody. I am a happy P7700 owner and recently purchased the 58mm Siolex adapter for the body thread. Can anyone recommend a tele converter for this 58mm adapter on the P7700? (I have read about Raynox, Siolex and Canon converters but never seen any of them in the photo stores of my hometown. Maybe someone has even shot some example photos with such an adapter and would be willing to upload them here ..) thx a lot, forestgreen (Christian)

Currently shoot Nikon D800 & D600. Have Sony HX20 for those P+S times but looking to improve on the stills side.  Very happy with Video out of this Cam but would like a little more quality as far as stills are concerned. Before I take the plunge on a RX100II (current Amazon UK price £559 which is a lot of money for me) I would be grateful to hear from those with RX100 and thoughts on overall IQ between these two, HX20 & RX100? I am very aware of the overall benefits offered by the RX100 but...
