While considering my kit for an upcoming trip I remember an issue I had awhile back that I can't seem to replicate at home, of course, so I thought I'd ask to see if anybody else noticed same:After shooting a sequence of RAW images on the M or H frequency setting the camera would go dark while the green light flashed, typical of the P7700, but it would never then come back to the ready mode. The light stops flashing, the LCD remains dark and the camera is basically dead until I remove the...
Hi, I’ve been a Non-SLR photographer starting out with the Nikon CoolPix 5000 and upgrading every number of years 2002. Never got deeply involved in the ins and outs and how tos, just lazy I guess. My questions have to do with which camera and macro lens would I need to upgrade to in order to Take quality macro shots of small 8mm to large 35mm collector world coins. Currently I’m using a Nikon P7700 which produces decently sharp photos but the color most of the time is not the same as that of...
I purchased a nearly new Nikon P7700 camera a few weeks ago. Hardly noticeable, but there, about 6 sparkling pixels showing on the LCD screen in dark areas. Two of these are a little larger and blink off and on...one green and one red. The tiny sparkling ones seem to disappear quickly. I have never had this on any other camera. Is this an acceptable condition? I forget about them as they are not very prominent, but I am now wanting to sell this camera to purchase a Sony RX10. (Maybe I want an...
Just curious if any P7700/P7800 owners are using the Gorillapod "hybrid" tripod. If so, does leaving the quick release plate attached to the camera conflict with the battery door opening? I was considering purchasing one but I don't want to have to remove the plate every time I want to access the battery or SD card. Regardz, RobBobTom
Just got a used Nikon P7700 (nearly new, strap had never been put on it). I cannot get the level indicator to show on the display even though I found it under monitor settings and turned it on. Neither the bar type which I prefer nor the compass type will show on the display. Any help will be appreciated greatly. Also, my firmware version is 1.0. What advantages would I experience from installing v1.2 and v1.3 ? --Christian Amateur Photographer
I've been using a 2004 PowerShot A95 for nature photography, most often mushrooms at ground level in forest environments. Here is what I'd like to upgrade to: RAW Flip-out LCD, absolute must when working on the ground Macro distance <5cm Better quality images <$400 The Nikon Coolpix P7700 looks like the best candidate. I considered the Canon SX50, but the camera body is too large to fit in the tight spaces I typically use it. The sample image will give you an idea of what I'm currently...
I have just bought a Nikon p7700. The airplane like the one for time zone change appears in the LCD screen all of the time. It is not hurting anything, but I would like to remove it. I can clear the screen with the disp button except for the airplane. I have tried working with the time zones with no results. Thanks for the help. Strobee
