Question No. 1: I used Nikon Coolpix P520 to shoot some full moon pictures and I got fantastic pictures of the moon showing quite clearly the surface of the moon. But after several shots I couldn't get such images and all I could see of the moon is just bright ball instead of the impact craters. Could the lens or sensor of the camera be damaged by the bright light of the moon when shooting at it? Question No. 2: When I aim at something far using telefocus, like the moon, the monitor shows red...
Hi guys, I am a long time DPReview user but first time asker of questions :) I Love the DPReview site and was directed here by my Photography Lecturer as a good place for a full compliment of information. I have a Canon 550D that I love but I am looking to supplement this with a slightly smaller camera for more everyday use. I do photography for work and sometimes the 550D is not practical to cart around everywhere . Currently I have Nikon P520 and Sony HX300 left on my list to pick...
I am looking to upgrade from a basic digital camera I have had for ages to something with a bit more capability. The camera will mostly be used to take family photos and general photography. With young children I will need it to have the capacity to take photos quickly (as kids run past etc), both up close and at a distance (across sport fields / beaches etc), and potentially in low light at times. While they won't regularly be blown up, it would be nice to have the ability to blow them up...
Hi all, I'm looking for a new camera to shoot performances of music from close range and also to idenitfy birds. I realize this is a strange combination, but it's what I have to deal with. I put a lot of music up on youtube and I am looking to upgrade cameras. Right now I use a Panasonic DMC-FCH27. The sound quality is decent but not ideal and I end up with a lot of white on the face from the light set-up. I found the FZ70 because someone on youtube posted performances with it and it...

Hello all, I'm the owner of a Canon PowerShot S100 that I bought for its pocketable size and built-in GPS. This is a nice little camera, but it's quite weak in low light conditions. Too slow even if I don't need a very fast camera; too much noise; etc. What I'm looking for is a camera (any size) with built-in GPS and (much) better low light performance, especially regarding noise and dynamic range. Here's what I would call my shortlist : Nikon 1 AW1 Nikon Coolpix P520 Sony Cyber-shot...
