Overall, this camera has given me many great pictures. Problems: It seems to have a problem focusing, even if moved to "manual". Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I bought the P500 a month ago and generally I'm satisfied. The main features are: 1- 36x zoom 2- Image stabilization 3- Amazing Option while using the manual mode. 4- Stereo Audio 5- great monitor with Tilt option 6- Full HD video, with fast motion 15 fps full HD, slow motion 120 fps VGA, and slow motion 240 fps QVGA 7- ISO 160-3200 8- contain Panorama 360 and HDR(2pics) ( Canon 40hs does not have these) 9- relatively cheaper than competitors so, it's a great camera for a personal use Problems: ...

This camera is just awesome at taking amazing pictures. The zoom is simply amazing with 36x zoom. I captured alot of far away things such as birds, planes and eve the craters on the moon. Problems: The only downside to this camera is that it takes time to get used to it and you almost need a tripod for the best quality pictures and it takes a while to get used too the controls

I bought this camera about three months ago to replace my dead Panasonic DMC-FZ7, which I had enjoyed a lot for three years. The Nikon P500 is slightly larger and heavier, but it is far superior in all respects. I especially like the 36X zoom, which works much better than I expected, even without tripod, thanks to an excellent stabilization system. I'm also pleasantly surprised by the coverage of the flash indoors, and by good low light results without the flash. Photo quality is really ...

Nikon’s P500 is a great disappointment as a bridge camera, or any larger than pocket camera for that matter. The digital stabilization operates poorly compared to the (by comparison) Canon's Powershot SX30 IS optical stabilization. That camera was released back in 2010! When the lens is zoomed out in video mode , the Nikon’s digitally stabilized image shakes all over the place… and I have a very steady hand. Lastly, Nikon, a company synonymous with fine optics, certainly could go to ...

I picked this camera up the week it arrived at the store and was impressed. I wanted to get an all-purpose camera that I could use to shoot video as well as take great pictures. I have always loved a long zoom and this camera would replace an Olympus SP-565 which had a 26mm-520mm (20x) zoom. This Nikon has an even more impressive 22.5mm-810mm (36x) zoom so I was anxious to see how well it would perform. It would be a companion to the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 which is much smaller. I use ...
