Opinion: I purchased this camera for my 3 year old, as she wanted to have a camera like mine. Mine are the Nikon D70 and D50 and S3 pro, so there was no chance she was getting one of these. I Often regret having large DSLR’s as that can be bulky and don’t fit in your pocket to name one thing. My other half wanted a pocket camera as well so it would seam like a good idea.
I purchased the camera for £46.00 and I expected the camera to be pretty good and have some of the features of the Nikon larger cameras. Yet I wanted a camera that a 3-year could use.
As a point and shoot the camera has a bit of weight to it and its pretty sturdy but Its not been dropped yet!

The camera is sold as a 5MP camera but it’s a lot closer to 4.9MP than 5. with a size of 8.5X6.4 inches for the negative image size leaving it a little off with 10x 8 print sizes.

The image quality is good for a camera of this price as I test under low light the ISO 800 that this camera uses is very noisy, It was gone in a flash in CS2 so its not really that much of an issue and for normal users acceptable. There are some Jpg artefacts in the image once you play with the image a little, but for many it will not matter.

The usability of the camera is pretty simple, there are no manual settings but there is choice. The camera has a selection setting for 16 image/scene types and has a handy panorama setting to knit the images together. The remainder are straight forwards as long as the correct mode is set.

Video is OK but basic, fuji cameras video function like the 9500 is much better.. it is a camera not a video camera!

Overall the camera is good, it’s not slow like many cameras in this price range and the flash is balanced giving you good images. This camera would be suitable for beginners as it’s not complex and is of a good quality. The images are suitable in quality as well.
This camera review is based on the use of domestic cameras such as the Olympus 330, the Fuji 3500 and the vivitar 3510 cameras all fall short of this camera.
With respect of my cameras, the camera is pretty good for what it is; it’s NOT a SLR so it cannot be compared to a quality SLR camera.

To chart the cameras mentioned on a chart of ten:
S3 being 9 Vivitar being 1, 3500 and the 330 being 2, The D50 is an 8. The D70 a 7 the L10 comes in at a respectable 5.

Problems: Just advice, the USB port on the camera in not the 'normal' type as used on many other cameras, may be worth considering if you are buying used with out the USB lead.

Opinion: We purchased an L10 so my wife could use it with VISTA. The oldrKODAK she already had and preferred was not compatible with Vista...
So far we both love the camera, takes wonderful photos outside and in, both.
Vista did me a fovor by forcing me to get a new Nikon,I feel . I really LIKE this camera......

Problems: Problems ---NONE so far

Opinion: Very good camera for 100 bucks. Takes good pictures, but auto focus is a bit slow. No viewfinder, so more apt to take some blurry pictures when holding at arm's length. Display is large and very easy to see. Takes good video.

Problems: Display does not have a plastic covering, just the raw LCD screen. Display broke after being bumped while in the case, and we are unable to take pictures because there is no viewfinder. Trying to get Nikon to cover under warranty, but we'll see how much they try to charge for the repair.

Opinion: Bought this for a pocket camera instead of carrying my SLR everywhere. Great value for money, easy to use. Feels solid even for a plastic point & shoot camera. Face priority AF works great!

Problems: None so far.

Opinion: Nice little camera to throw in your pocket. Simple to use because of it's limited features. For a $100 it's a great buy.

Problems: When indoors, focus can suck if you are too close to a subject or if you zoom in. It takes a little fooling with the distance between you and the subject.

Opinion: Great value for first time digital camera user or someone who isn't into bells and whistles. Start up time is quick, build quality, although plastic, is solid. Image quality is excellent, 8x10's straight out of camera show little noise or fringing thanks to nice lens and light metering.

No ISO or manual camera setting control (aperture, shutter priority). But exposure compensaton and white balance settings plus 16 scene modes included.

User's manuel is well written, no need to read cover to cover as it is easy to look up particular feature functions.
