I've owned a 995 since 2001, added every possible accessory, and recently bought a second one on e-Bay. Didn't get used for several years, but I now use the two of them together for stereoscopic (3D) photos, and they work great. This is a Nikon classic, the best of the swivel cameras, IMO. So versatile and feature-filled, you might be able to make a living with it. In fact, I did use it for a project of panoramic views, which turned out to be quite profitable. Using it nowadays, of course, it ...

I bought this one second hand on eBay (hence the excellent value for money). I love swivel bodies and this camera handles much like a DSLR: not only does it have a lot of features, but they are easy to access too! The exposure is usually spot on while image quality can sometimes suffer from excessive chromatic aberrations or CCD blooming. AF is on the slow side by today's standard, but accurate and reliable (no hunting).. I got rid of it because I wanted a smaller digicam and found out that ...

Excellent macro with tripod but TTL Flash is still missing. Therefore sharp hand held macro shots difficult to take. The small film sensor makes possible the long depth of field. The lens focuses from infinity down to extremely small minimum frame area. These both properties are needed in macro shots. Problems: - TTL flash is still missing, although it was invented already 1975 (Olympus OM2). - Shutter lag makes it impossible to take action shots. - Flash over exposes faces without manual ...

Well made, sturdy camera which feels good in your hands. Lot of features, but hard to access due to menu system - needs more dials. Image quality good for 3.14 mg. Main reason I upgraded to a 5400 was the lack of a hot shoe and setting up the cord and bracket is too time consuming. Built in flash is only good for 6 meters at 400iso - not powerful enough to fill faces on a sunny day. Problems: poor low light focus slow write speed to some CF cards No hot shoe

I purchased this camera about a month ago as it was heavily discounted being an older model. I am a Nikon F100 user and wanted to try digital but without the expense of the SLR prices. I really enjoy using this camera now along with my film camera. It's very flexible with full manual control and I found it very easy learning all of it's functions. I was worried at first that I would be confused with menu's and sub menu's. As for picture quality, it's great but I won't throw my Velvia away ...

I have this camera for about year. I made about 6000 pictures with this camera and I am satisfied from its quality. "995" is really easy to use and work with it. Problems: Relatively "slow" lens (F2.6 - F5.1) compared to some of the competition.
