Had the camera for 21 months. Satisfied in every way. Just purchased a Coolpix 995 and hope that I will be as satisfied with it as I have been with the Coolpix 950. Problems: Battery compartment door would come open accidently. Bent the catch just slightly to correct the problem. Not a serious problem.

I've had this camera for over two years now...and I must say, I am still impressed as the day I bought it. To the camera by which all others are compared, it is still tops in my book. As an amateur photographer, it does what I need it for and then some. For my wife, who is a point and shoot type, it does everything she needs as well. This camera is great for beginners and professionals alike...and I'm sure its successors (from Nikon) are that much better, but not worth upgrading to yet. Some

Two months ago, I decided to get into digital photography because I would like to do documentary stuff. I have read reviews on dpreview, imaging-resource, cnet, and zdnet. My list includes Canon G1, Nikon 950, 990, 995, Ricoh RDC-7, Olumpus 2100UZ, and Olympus 700UZ. About a month later, I decided to buy the Canon G1 because of all the great reviews it has. I ruled out the other digital cameras that do not use CompactFlash because I want to be able to exchange the CF card with my Pocket ...

This is my first digital camera although I have been seriously into photography since 1977. Read the reviews and the article on this site helped immensely in picking. Picked up my camera just prior to xmas 2000 and have been impressed with the features and quality (both camera and images) I still use a Nikon F100 with slide film but this has been a fun and useful camera to use. Almost got the 990 but the chap at the camera store (who has a 990 now but was a 950 user) convinced me to get the ...

My 5th digital camera. Had a cp900 before the cp950 and Nikon solved all the problems on the 900 when they introduced the 950. The 950 has ALL the "bells and whistles"!! ;-) With all it's features it can be complicated to use but it also can easily be used like a "point and push" if you so desire. No one has come out with a better camera so far....my next digital camera will be a Nikon cpXXX as soon as it's availab Problems: After about 1000 pix developed two clusters of yellow/green (bad) ...

Mini-Review: Amazing Macro Zoomrange extendable from 24mm to 230mm with adapters Lots of manual controls possible. Uncompressed and near-uncompressed modes available Compact and storage efficient shape Problems: Problems: Barreldistortion and pincushion distortion significant but can be eliminated with Photoshop plug-in. Compact Flash door opens easily, can be fixed easily. No selftimer in Macro Mode.
