This was the first digital camera that I owned and I like it. I still use it on occasion. The colors that this camera produces is quite nice and there is no need to alter many of the shots that I have taken with it. I've had this camera since 2000 and the only reason that I replaced it was because it got sand in the swivel from taking it to Iraq. Otherwise a great camera!

I have had my Coolpix950 over two years and have had good results, nicely exposed photos with good resolution, plus the excellant close-up focussing is a big feature with me. The constuction of the body appeared quite strong, alloy housing and generally well made. Pleased that photoshop5.0 LE supplied, an excellant program. Problems: The battery door has lost the latches(plastic) twice now, causing the batteries to tumble out and stop the camera functions, very annoying and surprising when ...

My first Digital Camera was reconditioned CoolPix 900- I used it for about 7 months before it's hinge failed. I was so impressed, I purchased new 950 in spite of failure of 900. I was much more impressed with it in spite of it's rather cumbersome menu interface and unintuitive tendency to change settings on it's own. The Coolpix 950 is, in my opinion, the best of the 9XX line in terms of what it had to offer when it was released vs. other cameras. That said, I think Nikon has really fallen ...

I used this camera for just under a year. It was my second digital camera. The learning curve was a bit steep on this one, but once I was comfortable with the many features, I really enjoyed the camera. No complaints here. I just ordered the 995 and I'm giving this camera to my dad who wants to get started with digital photography. Problems: More often than not, I had to do some image manupulation with my favorite photo editing software to clean up my pictures. I struggled a bit getting ...

I had this camera for over 3 years. nice color and picture under full sun. However, the weakness are: 1. flash are weak against the sun or in the dark. 2. flash can not be used when wide angel lense attached. 3. battery cover broken whithin a month. 4. Deadly problem is the auto focusing system malfunctioned often in the spot light setting. Problems: 5. Not a good camera for stage use. 6. battery drain fast. 7. ISO only can set at 100.

It's very hard to take a bad picture in auto mode. I, being a neophyte as far as photography goes am pleased that it has plenty of room to grow with me and learning photography. Forget trying to take spontainious pix. I consistantly miss 2/3 of my intended shots because of the time it takes from shutter press till it actually takes the picture. :( A real drag. Problems: - Burnt pixels on the CCD - Battery lid pegs broke off within 2 weeks and now use rubber band to keep it closed.

Overall it has been a fun camera to own as I move more from SLR to digital, but it has not without its problems of picture quality. Mobility, I can take it anywhere any time and that is a great advantage. Problems: My problems have been related to weak flash and speed which contrast to my SLR100; but the biggest problem has been the inconsistent quality of focus of the pixs...I thought it was movement at times, but it is clearly focus problems and don't know what to do. It happens very ...
