I use this camera for my business, which is selling antique and vintage textiles. I have been happy with image quality and general features (I always use indoors, with more or less the same focal range and lighting, so I have used very few of the many features.) The biggest problem is that I have had this camera for only 15 months, and I already developed problems that required a $173 repair bill at Nikon. Problems: I have had this camera for only 15 months, and I just had to have it ...

I've had this camera for about 2 years now and got some great pictures out of it. This is the first digital camera I own - used mostly Polaroid before. Out of 4 shots, about 1 is great, 2 are average, and one is bad. No problem, I just erase the ones I don't like. Overall, picture quality is excellent. I find some of the controls difficult to use, especially switching to shutter priority. By the time I get the camera ready for a "fast" shot, the opportunity may be gone. This is not a camera ...

I have used my old SLR camera, Canon FTb QL. Nikon Coolpix 950 is my first digital camera. It shows excellent good performances and gives me high quality pictures though the CCD pixels are only 2 millions. It's a very very good and cheap digital camera for beginners and hobbiest I think. Problems: It doesn't support Compact Flash Type II so I can't use IBM's MicroDrive.

Love the output of this camera, and I'd been pushing it pretty hard. I realy like the realistic colors ( or surrealistic if you need so). The auto mode is pretty accurate, but the manual settings could be time consuming. There is no quick manual shots unless you preset some of the functions ahead the time. Even though I bought another camera I will keep this one. The macro is awsome without any added lens. Problems: I am nearly at 4000 pictures and now the on-off control switch started to ...

Overall it has been a fun camera to own as I move more from SLR to digital, but it has not without its problems of picture quality. Mobility, I can take it anywhere any time and that is a great advantage. Problems: My problems have been related to weak flash and speed which contrast to my SLR100; but the biggest problem has been the inconsistent quality of focus of the pixs...I thought it was movement at times, but it is clearly focus problems and don't know what to do. It happens very ...

This is my first digital camera although I have been seriously into photography since 1977. Read the reviews and the article on this site helped immensely in picking. Picked up my camera just prior to xmas 2000 and have been impressed with the features and quality (both camera and images) I still use a Nikon F100 with slide film but this has been a fun and useful camera to use. Almost got the 990 but the chap at the camera store (who has a 990 now but was a 950 user) convinced me to get the ...

Bought purely to attach to microscopes, with a special C-mount adapter from Nikon. (Thanks Nikon!!!) Turned out to be the most versatile camera I ever had. Problems: frequent crashes, to be solved by opening and closing the batt. compartment. (frimware update didn't help yet) White balance for 3200K inaccurate, no matter if you choose auto or incandescent light.

when i decided to get a digital camera the nikon 950 had been superseeded and it came down to a choce between the nikon 950 and the sony DSC S50. The two cameras were generally the same both having good and bad sides to them. for example the S50 didnt have a viewfinder on the other hand the Nikon coolpix 950 had the best viewfinder of all the cameras i had seen. And the coolpix had AA bateries while the S50 had a lithium battery. Problems: The door to the Compact flash card is very flimsy and ...

Had the camera for about 9 months. Bought it because of reviews on this site. It has held up to all the demands I've put on it and lived up to all my expectations. I love the low light performance, macro abilities, the best shot feature and the preset white balance especially. My wife uses it for her eBay auctions and loves it too. She's the one who needed the low light performance the most. Here are some macro shots of flowers at my aunt's house: http://www.chesterfamily.org/images/dci/ ...

My first digicam and I love it! I find myself berely using my Canon EOS Elan anymore. The swivel is a handy feature for taking pictures w/o having the camera up to your eye. Detail is good even an basic resolution. Accurate metering due to 256 segment meter. Only drawbacks are lag after activating shutter release and relatively large size compared to Canon Ixus and Fuji FinePix 40i. I'm considering upgrading but its a tough decision due to the lack of features these models have relative ...
