A friend complained about the shutter lag. Tried it. The camera seems to take the picture about 1 second after you press the button. Something wrong with the settings or something wrong with the camera? There is shutter lag on my Canon V3 and Ixus i but it is not so bad.

I enjoied a lot taking pictures with this camera. It's very compact, and it has a wonderful design. It's very easy to use and it garantees wonderful landscape picture. Every pics has got too much red and that makes the picture not so much natural, expecially about complexion. But the general performance it provides can be considered good enough. Problems: be very careful with the lens caps.

Easy to use Features are good Good brand Problems: Shutter lag is unacceptable Take a long time to save photos, switch between playback and record mode. Auto focus is slow and sometimes cannot focus correctly. White balance is a disaster (red and red!) I will not buy Nikon DC in the future (only DC not SLR)

Takes great photos until you use the flash. Most flash photos come out way too red. I can fix this in Paint Shop Pro, but it is a pain. If it had white balance adjustment in auto mode I could probably fix it, but it is only available in CSM mode. Apart from that it works brilliantly. Problems: When in Copy mode in Scene, the camera never focus's properly. After one year and 2000 photos, the Li- Ion battery dosen't last too long anymore. Takes too long to start up and too long a wait between ...

The camera seems to be solid. It has a good grip. It has plenty of features. So I am looking forward to my next holiday. I sure need to read the manual, but do not mind to do so. With my first digital camera I am having some problems to get the right focus. The lens is sometimes a bit buzy. The image quality is oké. For now, I did not find the money to buy me a 5mil pixel. Maybe later. I was happy about the price, I hope that Nikon will continue selling this camera. This because most dealers ...

The short: DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA! I spent the bucks on this camera, having heard so many good things about it. Indeed, it is quite an impressive little camera, except for one major problem. Inexplicably the camera distorts reds in a completely unacceptable way, so badly that I consider the camera unusable. To a lesser extent it also distorts cyan. Everyday red and green objects not only leap out of the picture, but dominate it. Sometimes the effect is so pronounced that red objects look ...

Problems: I bought my Coolpix 885 in March and hardly had time to use over three weeks before it broke (pictures outside were completely over exposed). Sent for servicing and eventually got it back one month later with very little information about what was wrong other than "zoom mechanism replaced". Then three months later same thing happened again and yet again I have had to send for servicing and they still have it! I have also asked them for a new camera or my money back which I doubt ...

Very nice to handle, can pull it out and get a shot quickly.. Problems: Skin tones are lacking, lots of red in med-low light.

The camera was simple to use, but all digitals are tricky to get into another mode quick enough to capture a picture. The 885 took a long time inbetween pictures, especailly the more pictures already taken. I had to learn to turn the camera on when I THOUGHT I might want to take a picture, so that it would be ready to go, otherwise, a long wait. Problems: BUT I have a comment for all others with arthritis. Most digital cameras are small and hard to hold and handle for those with bad ...
