I had the camera for about 2 years, it is an excellent camera took over 5000 pictures with it and still going strong. excellent image quality. more features would not hurt, but for the money I paid for it($350) it is an excellent value. I would defenetly go with Nikon agian, when I am ready. Problems: needs improvement with the flash at night shots

I used the camera for 3 weeks, but had consistent trouble getting in-focus shots indoors, without the flash. I needed some indoor shots in a large room (like a gym) where the flash wouldn't work. The camera had trouble focusing. Up close, I could get good indoor shots. I was able to compare a 950 to the 800, and the 950 correctly shot the trouble shot each time, so I returned the 800 for a 950. Outdoors, the 800 produced excellent shots! I was really pleased with these shots. I also got ...

When i was looking for a camera, i needed one that would give me superior image quality, a good set of features, value for money and a brand name to back it up. After doing a lot of reading, i finally ordered the Nikon 800. Ive owned this for almost a year, this camera has served me very well. The image quality is amazing, easy to use, and it had all the features i wanted. I didnt have the need for the macro's the 950 offered, since i wasnt going to be fiddling with them when im supposed to ...

Just own this camera for about a month. So far, so good. I'm not too excited nor disappointed with this camera. For its price, this is in fact an above average 2.1MP digital camera. I like the color it produced and nice features. Good for amateurs and beginners. Anyone looking for Nikon800 should go for Nikon 950 esp. when you can get it at much lower price than MRSP at auctions. One thing that I'm concerned : resolution&detail. It seems that it can't produce good resolution and detail for ...

After 300 shots taken with this camera i think it's a great camera for quality, great macro pictures and good white balance and colors. in manual mode long battery life, excellent optics Problems: lot of noise in low light or cloudy sky. poor construction (i talk about CF lid and battery lid) no microdrive + no usb (you have to buy an external reader)

I've had this camera for almost a year and It's been excellent so far. I read the other reviews and I have to say that even though this camera has some problems focusing in the dark and also the battery lid is hard to snap in, the camera offers great value for the money. I bought mine through ebay at 2 thirds of the cost and have enjoyed very much. I specially like the nikkor lenses sharpness, the construction is excellent too, I dropped it once and there was no damage to it. visit: ...

Had it for 5 months now, and I'm pretty pleased with it. It hasn't been all roses, but it makes quite sharp pictures and surprisingly good low-light pictures. Coming from non-digital cameras, this feels slow (no snapshots), but I love being able to delete pictures on the fly. Problems: The battery lid doesn't close well, so the batteries will occasionally drop out *growl*. There seems to be a lot of noise in some cases, don't know if it's a faulty CCD or JPEG artifacts (see e.g. ...

My background is 35-mm SLR and the old Relisys and the Sony Mavicas, using cameras to take macro shots of pearl and glass jewelry (and family pics)...I bought the Nikon Coolpix 800 because I wanted a camera with high-definition, good color macro capability at an affordable price. Although it took some fiddling to get the kind of photos I need, the macro shots are very clean, with acceptable contrast and color (hard to do with pearls) and the flash is great about enhancing (as opposed to ...

I have had absolutely no problems with this camera in over 5,000 pictures. The image quality is excellent. By using the many options (metering, ISO, flash, etc.) I have been able to get around the limited control over shutter speed and aperature. Best Shot and Slow sync flash are wonderful features. For the price you cannot beat the combination of picture quality and features. In automatic mode even my wife and kids can take great pictures. Problems: Flash shots are often underexposed ...
