Beware of a fundamental flaw with this camera! For some reason, the lens opens up when the camera is powered on for the purpose of downloading pictures to your PC. Of course, this would be when the camera is most vulnerable to a drop (while it is connected to a cord). i'm not reviewing this camera because i haven't shot with it, but obviously the problem people are having with bluish casts is due to the white balance not being set to Auto by default. so i'd just ask future reviewers who are having problems with color casts to change the white balance to Auto and take a few more shots before posting a review. thanks! I am very disappionted by this camera. All pictures have strange colors. The corners of sky at wide angle are purple and at tele the image is always blurred. I used a Canon S1 before and that was an excellent camera. Now I wanted to upgrade and I really regret it!

The camera is solid but I'd prefer it to be all metal like it's competitors. I was really excited about this camera, and got it as soon as it was available. I was esp. excited about the 8.3x zoom, which was the main reason I was buying it.
