Wait a minute... I purchased this camera for my 8 year old daughter a few months ago. She has had no problems at all, the camera has performed very well. We also own a CP5900, and I previously owned a CP3100. All of these cameras have impressed me!

Very fragile. I was switched to this camera at Ritz when shopping for a Canon. I used it as a carry camera because I like to have one with me at all times. DONT CARRY THIS CAMERA WITHAOUT A PADDED CASE. I did and within a week the lens would not close due to misalignment. Problems: Had two of these cameras and the lens failed to function in both. Owned this camera. For any camera, the single most important thing is focusing. There is no pic quality to speak of if it cannot even focus well. It must be fast, reliable and sharp for outdoor and indoor. If the camera does not pass this criteria, any other features are considered unimportant anymore and the cam is considered junk.
