Opinion: This is a great little camera for anyone looking into getting just a basic point a shoot. Also this camera is ideal for anyone looking for a very small camera. I like the preset modes, it really reminds me of the D50. I also like the fact that it has a viewfinder that will zoom when you zoom the camera (digital zoom doesn't work) and this is great because when your out in bright sunlight, you can use the viewfinder instead of the screen. Buttons feel great and very good construction!

Problems: Takes some time to process photos, takes a very long time to recharge the flash after you have taken a picture with flash, only 4MP

Opinion: Very good small, light compact. Slow response as is typical of many Nikon cameras. Nice, intuitive menus, similar to more expensive Nikons, so it is an ideal backup if you are a Nikon owner.

Problems: None, except for the slowness.

Opinion: I brought this camera without knowing anything about cameras in general. (Then, I thought megapixels were a true measure of how good a camera is)

I am an owner of this camera since 2 years, and I found this camera, a very easy camera to work with. Its a great camera for beginners. I have got some great results with the camera, and one of the pictures won me an editors choice award by Nikon (one of the reasons, I chose to keep this camera).

Some great features:
The Sports mode lets you take 5 consecutive pictures with the same amazing quality. The optical zoom is very less, hence the pictures become noisy after 1.5X zoom itself, but still i have managed to capture some very nice zoom shots.

Works best at low ISO mode (has a few options for that), and steady hand is required at manual mode settings (a really big drawback)

Love the fact that it takes AA batteries, and clicks upto 150 carefully adjusted pictures with one set.

Problems: White balancing is a slight problematic.
Manual modes are not that great, works best in the Auto mode

Opinion: while it worked... it was a good camera, but after only 14 months of use with care it suddenly stop working, the main board is burned and the repair is almost expensive as a new camera.

Problems: Also if you buy the camera outside your country, when you were travel, your local official service center will no repair it, even with charge, very dissapointed

Opinion: Bought this camera as a point and shoot. I am transitioning to digital and wanted to see what the camera would do,
or not do. Unlike other users I have dropped the camera and not had any malfunctions. The pictures are what I expected,
not fantastic but very good in quality, sharpness and lighting.
The camera does perform better outdoors and like others
I have found the recycle time to be extra long. I always
carry spare batteries and have the camera in a mini bag on my belt when traveling.

Problems: The mode wheel will move and must be checked before shooting. Any large motion (shooting from shaking vehicles)
will yield a blurred picture, however smooth motion does
yield acceptable results.

Opinion: nice small camera, used AA bateries, and relatively easy to use.
Excellent flash for a small camera

Problems: terrible shot to shot time (took forever to write image to card)
this camera was a christmas gift (2005) and this camera died 4 months later. Nikon Canada refused to repair it under warranty as the camera had sustained impact damage... the camera was used normally, not roughly.
essentially this experience will move me to Canon for my next DSLR. Highly disappointed in Nikon's quality downfall.

Opinion: Got it very cheap (less than US$160), made in Indonesia, but it takes
surprisingly good pictures. Shot more than 1000 images at the highest setting
on holiday in the UK and pleasantly surprised by how good the exposures
were. Very easy to use that even my young 7 year old can operate it without
any help. Some image softness but that's to be expected from a small camera.
Small enough to fit in a pocket but plastic body can get scratches. Exceptional
battery life. Slightly slow to start up and flash recycling takes a little longer
than I would like. Watch for flare when shooting into the light. Other than
these points, I'd highly recommend this camera.

Problems: No problems except that a soft case needed to avoid scratches to body.

Opinion: I found it to be a good camera, the size is good as it fits neatly into my pocket. It takes some really good photos, especially the close-up photos and landscape ones. Battery life is satisfactory. Hope you find my opinion useful, though I'm not a camera buff, who has experience using others models.

Problems: Night photography is very bad

Opinion: This camera is poorly made. I bought three at Christmas for myself and two of my kids. One broke after being dropped three inches (seriously.) Not covered by warranty. Second camera just broke for an unknown reason. Terrible construction. Terrible support. Do not buy this camera.

Problems: Two out of three cameras broke within two months of normal use.
