Nikon Coolpix 3700

I have used it for more than 6 years now and I am still using it for light occasions. It has never failed me to provide technically [shutter-and-apperture-balanced and focused] images. Problems: As every pocket does, it lacks the response time from the release button to the exposure thus I have often lose my moments. Out of 10 exposures, it provides me with average of 1 great image with perfect moment.., while it is 5 to 1 using my D90. =P ...Still, a great number for a value pocket.

I have used this camera for 4 years (since 2004). It is my first digital camera and I have been nothing but pleased with it. The battery always lasts longer than I need it to and the pictures are clear and sharp (I use the auto mode 95% of the time and rarely use the "scene" mode). I used this camera over 2 years. It's a great 3 mega pixel camera, excellent TV quality video features, ok image. Battery life is average, with a 256Mb SD card, battery will run before you run out of memory space, so I carry a spare battery. The orange spotlight can get annoying and it blinds people, I wish there was a menu to turn it off. Flash options are limited, and often my photos with flash, have people squinting or blinking. Great value for the money at the time. I paid about $127 after rebate in Nov 2005. It's a decent camera at best. I'm not extremely happy with the picture quality of it. I have lot's of problems with blurriness. Not great for indoor events like weddings. None of the settings took a good picture. Lots of features and image modes. zoom is okay.

This is a premium compact camera with modest resolution that seems to have sold poorly because the market prefers cheap, mediocre cameras with tremendous resolution. I didn't own this camear, but recommended my sister as well my friend to buy it. I think this cameara has a manufacturer defect!
