Opinion: Excellent pictures with very little post processing work.
Great macro mode, excellent flash exposures, long battery life, great size.
Opinion: Tot i que no és una càmera avançada, permet fotos força correctes per a un afeccionat de nivell mig quan és vol rapidesa i poques complicacions.
Opinion: I have owned it 12 months, 3500 shots. Easy to carry, easy to use, good photos, quite good even without flash in lowish light. Reasonably rugged. Excellent camera for point n shoot.
Problems: None. LCD a bit small, and gets crowded with image info turned on.
Opinion: - Small, light and strong plastic body, easy to use.
- Optical zoom 3x.
- Powerful flash.
- The camera can take excellent pictures in macro mode and outdoor.
- One mini usb connector for both PC and TV.
- Buttons are well placed with easy access.
- Excellent batteries life (I'm taking about rechargeable Ni-MH)
- Movies quality is OK
Problems: - No AF Assist Lamp.
- No sound for movies.
- No voice for picture note.
- Slow focus in low light area, sometime is impossible.
- Indoor pictures are not very good if you use zoom, I suggest that you should only take indoor pictures in the range of flash (less than 3m from your camera).
- Slow flash charging when batteries are low.
- Some dust in the viewfinder (I don't know why?)
- Photos taken with digital zoom are not very good.
Opinion: I purchased this camera as a back up to my Oly and for my wife & kids to use. Wanted a small, easy to use camera for the whole family. Looked at others, but for the price the Nikon CP2200 offered the most. Pictures are of good quality with excellent colors. Like that it uses AA batteries.
Problems: none so far.
Opinion: There are better options for the money...
Good: The blur warning. Tells you that a photo may be blurred. Very useful. Good thinking Nikon!
It has a pretty quick reaction on the shutter, especially for the cheapest camera (of a brand that is) you can get.
Too bad: the lens is a real let down. Too much chromatic abberations in the corners, soft lens altogether.
Colours are far too saturated in bright light
Resolution is quite a bit worse than for example Canon A60 (which is now so cheap that it is a much better choice)
Problems: In the end not good enough: Too low a resolution (2 Mp can do better), very likely to a very poor lens. I have seen better with Olympus or Canon
Opinion: One of the best values around. I can hardly think of another camera with similar features in this price range:
-Great price (got mine for $135)
-Small, lightweight and easy to use
-Overall nice pictures
-Excellent macro capabilities
-Nice 3x optical zoom.
Problems: -Pictures tend to come blurry or noisy, especially without the flash or at some of the "scene" modes.
-Chromatic aberration is visible sometimes.
-Batteries and SD card slots doors feel very cheap, I'm afraid I might break them at any time.
-Eats batteries VERY VERY fast. I solved the problem with four 2200 niMH batterias + charger for $18
Opinion: Overall this is a decent camera and good value for the money.
The Goods:
It has better build quality than its competior.
-Perffect physical size and shape.
-The LCD is a lot better and sharper than olympus, samsung, vivitar and minolta in the same price range.
-LCD gives a cleaner image under low light condition.
-Overall Good image quality considering it is only 2MP.
-Better image quality than Olympus D565 and minolta 2MP.
-Better battery life than most 2AA cameras. (D565)
-In general, camera is fast when flash is not in use.
-Fast write speed due to storage type (SD)
-Powerful macro that produces outstanding image quality.
-Good set of preset settings that allow for camera control.
The Bads:
Slow flash recharge due to the fact that it only uses a single pair of AA batteries as suppost to 4AA. It is not a camera deffect, all 2AA cameras from any brands suffer from the same dillema.
Noisy images due to high ISO. This camera is actually capable of taking noisefree clean images as long as it stays at ISO-50, but you can't force the ISO in this camera and the camera tends to favor higher ISO when shooting indoors, producing the noisy images that everyone complains about it.
But, there are always tricks that you can use to go around the problems, for example if you choose the sunset scene mode while taking indoors images with no flash, the camera will actually choose a lower shutter speed instead of higher ISO producing soft images that are free of noise, and strong in the yellows but fixable and usable.
Also, you can use Program mode and compensate all the way down to -2, it will give you darker images but with higher shutter speed that would help cut camera motion and lower ISO settings, then you can just lighten up the images with photoshop afterwards.
the problem is that this camera does not allow for user set ISO and the camera tends to favor higher ISO this way producing noisy images in almost all the preset setting (modes).
Problems: I have had this camera for 3 weeks now and I have had no problems with craftmanchip or build quality, it is solid like a rock and a good performer.
The only complain is the lack of simple manual functions, for example manual ISO that would allow the user control over the ISO, this way avoiding the known noisy images.
Opinion: Best right now for under $140-150.
Got it for $137 shipped (newegg) for fiancees' parents (+$33 for 128MB SD). I also have used extensively Coolpix 4300, canon a70, canon s50, Fuji A210 (other relatives).
Can't compare to more expensive cameras but cannot be beat at this price. For 4x6, and some blow ups it's perfect--a friend who has 2100 coolpix--an 8x10 looked fine. Highly recomended for entry level / basic users--maybe not most in this forum but if you getting inexpensive for someone else it's perfect. Regarding complaint about battery not included-- use NimH AA's--you can find 4 with charger for $25 with around 2100maH.
Pricewise it's between Fuji A205/A210--colors are better on Nikon than Fuji from what I've seen.
Problems: No audio in movie (as said)
