This is a great camera. I bought this camera due to the low price (it helped that the reviews were great, too). Within 5 minutes of getting the camera, it was up and running, and taking great pictures. The Coolpix 2100 is extremely easy to use, and the picture quality is outstanding. The size is small, which I find very handy. The software included is also very easy to use, and it is a snap to transfer pictures from my camera to my computer.

I used this camera for about 1 month before I went to Brasil and it was stolen from me. In the area of ultra-compacts, I chose this over the smaller models due to photo quality. Outdoors, the pictures are excellent. Indoors, while not great, they seem better than the competitor models. AF illumiation would help greatly. Overall, a good camera for the money. I miss it. Problems: Some more manual options would be nice, but all these little cameras try to emulate point and shoot. Poor ...

I bought this camera because I wanted a go-anywhere model that didn't cost the earth,so I wouldn't be worried about damaging or losing it.It had to be straight-forward enough for my non-photographic partner to use-I never seem to get in photos! I wasn't 100% convinced about plastic bodied cameras, but have to say that this seems a tough little cookie. It has been in bag and pocket on a recent trip to Tuscany and has performed reliably in different weather conditions. I find that my aging PC can ...

I've had great experiences with this camera so far. It's my first digital camera, and I did not want to spend huge amounts of money (and then have to worry about the camera all the time). I've taken over 2000 photographs already, and I'm very pleased with the results. The colours, focus, writing-time (speed) have all been good. The automatic white balance works well in most occasions, but the manual setting has proved invaluable in certain odd situations. Coming from an SLR background, ...

I needed quickly a digital camera and was going for the Sony DSC F717 when I heard about the upcoming F828. Not willing to spend a lot of money for "something" that I would waste after the Sony was going to be available, I rather hastely decided to buy a cheap 2 Megpix "thing". Since using NIKON since the Seventies (still using an F3 HP) -convinced by NIKONs famous reliability- I choose the Coolpix 2100 on nov.27. Really, I did not expect much and was not so shure about the outcome. Some ...

I chose the 2100 as a loaner camera for people to check out to take images in their lab. I like the ease of use which minimizes training time. I can just show them 1-on 2-zoom 3-click and they are good to go. If appropriate I can also set the camera in a special configuration -macro (surprisingly good!), museum etc. I ended up liking the camera so much I use it at times when I don't want to tote my D-1. I am also getting one for my daughter this Christmas so I can get more great grandson ...

This camera is just perfect in all conditions , even taking a photo in almost darkness with the built-in speedlight flash-the camera re-produces an excellent picture quality which i have not seen on any other cameras in this group! The battery problem seems to be solved,as i´m using the new 2300mAh rechargeables, gives the camera very long operating time also with flashphoto, i can highly recommend this piece as a nice little wonder in digital photography. Problems: I have so far not have had ...

2 MP is all you really need! Or, at least, all I really needed. After much deliberation, I decided that since I would be primarily using my camera for emailing, posting on the net, and printing 4x6, I only needed a 2 megapixel camera. The hundred dollar price difference between the 3100 and the 2100 settled it. With the money saved, I used it to buy accessories - NiMH batteries plus charger and a bigger memory card. Also what really appealed to me about the Nikon (over some other brands) are ...
