As an ongoing student of art (mainly painting and sculpture, photography included) I often need to  photograph objects of art. Owning two small Leica camera's V-Lux 20 and an X1 I often struggle to   realize qualitative pictures that allow me in depth studying. Anyone with expertise in this area? I wd appreciate his/her help greatly! Chris

Please help, I just bought a new D7100 and worry my old computer can not handle the Raw files from the D7100, it did ok with the D90 Raw files. The my current computer is a Gateway SX2801-01e 6 ram (but buy more I can make it 8) video card: Graphics card: PCI Express x16 Chipset: Intel G43 1 TB hard drive 64 bit op I use NX capture 2 software--which I find I must update to use Raw files from the D7100.    so my question is can I simply buy more ram for my current computer or what specs...

I want to buy a lens for wildlife photography as well as for BIF. I am just moving from Nikon and so I'm not very familiar with Canon models. On a different thread, I read some good opinions about my dilemma regarding the camera body and decided to get the 7D Mark II. IQ is my top priority. After that comes AF speed and responsiveness, but if the difference between the two is not that noticeable, I would like the simplicity and comfortableness of a single zoom lens. What do you think?

Hi, I have three questions, and I hope you'll can teach me : 1 - how to realize this kind of photography (Hoffer's) : Only using the backlight and wide aperture ? How to drive the reflections and from where and what ? Using an object, glasses or not ? Is it just the reflection of the light on the lens (directly or from a surface? ) ? And this one  : Just the ligth through the grass ? 2nd question : More the focal length is big, better is the bokeh, but how is the bokeh from a Full Frame...

Sorry, this is going to be a long one... My wife and I have been doing Wedding Videography for a few years now and this year we would like to do photography as well. I've been a second shooter before (using Canon). My wife has done many family/child sessions and this year we will have a couple of paid photography events. Our current gear (I have lots more but selling the rest) includes the following: Sony A7S Panasonic GH4 Panasonic 12-35 2.8 Panasonic/Leica 25mm 1.4 Metabones Nikon to m43...

I am considering an X Vario for a walk around/landscape camera. I enjoy using an arca swiss tripod head. Any l brackets or bottom plates that fit appropriately. I found it interesting the RRS didn't have one for this camera (or the X1/X2). Thanks. --Joe - Southeastern PA

Hi guys, In May I will be in Portugal for a week and I really really want to see some wildlife. I am drawn to spiders, horses and birds of prey but of course any wildlife will make my week such a great adventure, I'm sure. There are many more animals I would love to see (i.e almost all African) but haven't had a chance yet. So if you know any places I should go to observe and photograph, please write some down. Will carry D700, 300mm, x1.4 and 105mm macro. Thanks a lot, Ran

I hit the magnification loop button twice to get into the magnified frame view mode with E-PL5. If I half-press the trigger button, before of auto-focusing, the E-PL5 switched back to normal non-magnified view, so it looks like that the AF is not available in the magnified frame view. This is different from what I see with my E-PM1 and E-M10 which can auto-focus while zoomed into the magnified frame. This is greatly improves accuracy with pinpoint x14 magnified zoomed AF box.  Are there...

I have been so used to using my lenses either wide open, or stopped down x1 1 1/2 stops. Doing landscapes, I obviously want more in focus than I would, say a portrait, so a smaller aperture like f/16-22 would be required. How do I get the right "focal point" to get as much as possible in focus? is this where using the hyperfocal distance comes in? If so, how does it work. Hope you can help.  --lee uk.There are old pilots, & there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots."I'm so...

So as an X1 -> X2 upgrader, while I still like the shooting experience of the Leica X 113 I'm feeling more and more it's redundant in my lineup. The X1 and 2 made sense as a fixed-lens compact: They could be slipped into a soft briefcase or at a pinch in a coat pocket that I didn't mind ruining the lines of. The X 113 on the other hand is basically the size of an M with a regular lens on it, it can only really go places that an M can. And while I still like the handling and it allows me to...
