Hi, A friend of mine lost his Leica D-Lux 6 original charger, and is looking for a replacement. I have a few questions to try to help out my friend: - Would anyone recommend a good replacement one? - I've heard of a Wasabi make. Is it any good? - I can't find the OEM on Amazon or Ebay, can that be found? Thanks --Martin Ocando-------------------------http://g3.img-dpreview.com/6221E9123CD346ABB1960C672369EFA1.jpg

Can you please compare the pros and cons of the Leica D-Lux 5 vs the Leica D-Lux 6. I mostly shoot portraits and street photography. Also why is the new model less expensive than the older model? Thanks!

I own a Nikon D90 and a Leica DLux 6.  Frankly I use the Leica mostly as it is much easier to always have it with me due to its light weight.   Today my goal was to take some pictures at a large public garden (Kew Gardens in London). So I grabbed the D90 and the 12-24mm f4 lens.   Not having used them in awhile, I was surprised at the weight of the body and the lens. It really weighed me down!   Here's my question to those much more familar with the   new crop of lighter weight, mirrorless...

Have been on the fence between a D-LUX 6 and a Sony RX100 II and have a strong preference for the Leica. The problem is I cannot live without a polarizer filter, living in a coastal town and all. There is, supposedly, an adapter for the 6 that was initially marketed for the LX7 but I cannot find one review or post anywhere by a 6 owner stating that it worked (it requires the front plate of the lens to be removed, which LX7 owners have successfully done). Perhaps the lens design on the 6 is...

Hi, Just got my D-lux 6. It seems very promising.  But although I've read the manual, I can't seem to work out how to do these simple things: 1) Move the focus point (in single point focus mode). It's centered by default and the manual says it can be moved (by using the arrow keys) but I simply can't make that work. 2) Using iHDR. I can't seem to find this menu point at all. I absolutely can't make out how this works. Help is appreciated. Thanks! - Jonas

What a disappointment. While on my trip to Florida, the zoom lever on my LX7 started sticking. It still works, but often sticks and I have to exert pressure to get it to move. Once it has "broken loose" it will operate OK for a while. It always starts sticking again. No liquids or food got under the lever. I've slid a piece of paper under and around the lever hoping to dislodge whatever and stop the behavior. No luck. Any other solutions? Anyone else had this problem? Given Panasonic's...

I continue to be fascinated by the Leica X Vario. I have a few questions that maybe you folks can answer: Can you set the camera to shoot in a 16:9 aspect ratio? I've grown to enjoy that format and prefer to compose with it rather than crop to it during PP. Is there a live histogram available? I use the live histogram 100% of the time on my D-Lux 6. It really helps me dial in exposure, making the latitude of raw files much less necessary for everyday exposures. How is exposure compensation...

OK maybe the title of the thread will make many of you not to spend some time here, but i really want an expert's help for this (this is what humans do when they want to solve problems right?). I am looking forward to entering the world of photography with a "quite" serious camera. Until know i used only very low potential Cybershots and iPhones. After balancing my budget, my taste for nice looking camera and believing that my choices fulfil the potential of a good future partner for at least...

I recently bought a D-Lux 6, extra battery and EVF-3.  I would like to find a carrying case that would hold the camera with the EVF attached and that would have a pocket for the battery, EVF-3 cover and hot shoe cover.  I have looked at a number of cases but cannot find one that works without being far too large.  Does anyone have a suggestion?  Thanks, Rob
