Bought this one after having variety of Canon, Nikon and Olympus semi-pro digicams over the years. JPEG quality is dissapointing in low light, but I was aware of that beforehand. I'm using 1 GB memory card and shoot almost exclusively RAW and I'm happy with the results. Lots of detail and good no-nonsense colour. I've set contrast, sharpness and saturation settings to LOW and noise reduction STD. Post process w. Photoshop CS2 RAW plug-in. Problems: Screen is not that great evaluating the ...

It really is identical to the DMC-LX1. How can they justify simply rebadging panasonic camera. Problems: lots

I suppose those criticizing this ''gem'' never hold one in their hands, and, by the way, I just checked the samples on Leica’s website to find 2 excellent shots, extremly sharp and detailed. Great camera and especially great lens. But it takes also a great photographer to get great shots; my humble opinion...

This is my fourth digital camera. I like the minimalist lines of design. The 16:9 format is very welcome compared to the usual format 4:3. Also a good wide-angle lens; distorsion remains acceptable. Easy to use and RAW possibility. The optical image stabilizer prevents blurred images in most situations. Good colour reproduction. The LCD is sharp. ISO setting mostly used in auto mode with good results. On 10 x 18 cm prints I do not notice noice. The software package is also a bonus. Up to now ...

I would not recommend this camera. I bought it expecting it to be worth the money simply because it was a Leica. Having used an M6 for many years I had high hopes. I have to say that I am extremely disappointed with the results. A lot of visible noise on every setting, extreme shutter lag, it does not feel good in the hands and the lens cap on a piece of string is just not what I would expect of a camera from this maker with such a high price tag. I have had much better results using a Sony ...

I have been a very keen user of digital photography for the last 8 years and I feel the progress made over the last 2 or 3 has been exceptional. Regarding the D-Lux 2 it is a superior camera, fully loaded with features to enable even the most demanding of photographer full control over his photos. Construction wise the camera is perfect, the camera software is brilliant, the photo quality (especially when taken with full resolution) is exceptional and the ease of use is also extremily ...

I love this camera for what it is. It is a great photographic tool. The design is excellent and if you take photograph a certain way this camera does a good job. Most manual controls are logical, typical for Leica. Handling is quick. Screen is beautiful. Lens resolves a great amout of details. Raw takes about 2 seconds and it generates a jpeg as well. Manual focus works and one can pre-focus and it decreases the lag time for taking a picture. Different aspect ratios come in handy ...

16:9 mode saves this camera from ebay. Its very addictive. Lens quality is superb, manual controls excellent. When all the beeps are turned off the camera is virtually silent so it makes a very good stealth camera for candids, but on the same note I wish it was black not silver! I know the panasonic version comes in black but the lens is still silver and looks terrible in my opinion. The Panasonic version is exactly the same so unless you are a sucker for a trendy badge (like me) you should ...

I don't know what it is about Leica lenses, but I have used every other popular digital camera made, and this camera produces images that are so stunning and so vibrant that it takes my breath away. It may be noisy at higher ISOs, but it doesn't take away from the almost 3D effect of the images. It is like shooting with Kodachrome 64 on paper! Every Leica frame I print is a keeper. I am awed by the legendary contrast and colors. This will be the M3 of Digital cameras. I am very happy ...

- Stylish camera with the nice red badge - 16:9 mode is joy to use, it gives another view of the world - Mega OIS does help a lot - Lots of detail, hight quality images if you dont mind NOISE - Good package (software etc) Problems: - Noise (there is no need to deny this), even at ISO 80 there is NOISE - Very slim camera-body, not suitable for large (male) hands - Vignetting - Lens zooming is on the slow side - Limited flash range - Expensive - You always have to shoot in RAW mode to get ...
