Please help. It won't turn on. Problems: After being a satisfied user for about a year, my Minolta Dimage Z1 heated up suddenly one day. I was out of the country and my rechargeable batteries had no charge left, so I was using Kodak disposable AA's. As soon as I felt the heat, I took the batteries off and stopped using the camera. Once I got back home, I charged the batteries and inserted them in. When I pressed on the power button, it turned on and in 3 seconds, turned off again. ...

I fall in love with camera specs, I did not even see her before buy it. Lens is good, and give good results in daylight. nowadays is a really good option for her price. Problems: Manual focusing is useless, should be better say that dont carries it, needs a manual ring. Very bad low light focusing, even on not so low situations. needs IR assist urgently. She is not able to focun in many indoor situations. AF tracking too slow, only able to follow a small kid running, till 15ft far (and not ...

sorry, bit too fast w the triggerfinger earlier. I think the overall rating in this forum is a bit too high. Sure the camera does its job in many ways, but some kind of anti-shake mecanics would be nice. its v-e-r-y easy to get a picture that's blurry, especially indoors. And for what the movie mode's concerned, even though this does not apply to the still images, 1 sec or more of sound lag is not acceptable. Problems: see above

I bought this camera last december after reading all user opinions, and thinking "battery door troubles? I AM cautious with expensive stuff". 3 weeks later I had to carry it in because 3 of the 6 battery door closing contact points were broken... After more than 2 months (!) of reparation time ("reorganisation at Minolta") I got it back, but didn't notice that the big LCD display "window blind" was misplaced, and I couldn't read shutter times etc. Brought it in again, and 2 weeks later I ...

I returned it after three days of use... I take Surfing pix. My favorite location is a long hike in and the steep cliff face prevents me from using a tripod. Camera crashed on the best photo opportunity this year. It was all I could do to keep from throwing that piece of junk into the ocean. . Problems: In less than 3 days of use, the mirror locked and I couldn't use the viewfinder any more. The lens rattled Plastic body looks like medal That battery door is a joke. Besides the fact that ...

Loads of features for the money, high quality images, but cheap construction and minimal battery life make its usefulness questionable. Problems: Battery life. Once purchased, just to use them, I inserted the 4 supplied alkaline batteries. As mentioned by others, the door enabling access to the battery compartment is flimsy at best, and even with great care I don't see it holding up through years of use. (Same for the door leading to the memory card and cables jack). Especially when ...

camera was returned after two days of use... certainly not the minolta quality that i was use to. overhaull poor quality. Problems: In less than an hour of use, the miror locked and I coul'dnt use the viewfinder any more (not an uncommond problem, I was later told !) The lens rattles, giving the impression it would eventually fall of. Lcd whitens, depending on the angle camera is held and/or the ambiant light, this, makes the viewing v-difficult. deceiving plastic body. Got myself a Nikon 5700

This camera was loaned to me to have a look at. It is lightweight and quite small. Not small enough to put in your pocket so the size thing is wasted in my opinion. For my taste the camera is to small and there is no place for your other 6 fingers. My first disappointment is that the threads for mounting any type of filter are gone and in fact the lens opening is tapered, making it near impossible to fabricate a filter mount. Everyone I know wants a UV filter at least, to protect the lens. ...
