Firstly, what really attracted me to the Z1 was it's look and feel, it just plain looks good and is easy to hold and use. I would've liked a more substantial shell, maybe a flat black case but that said I can live with the brushed (faux) metal. My most pressing concern was how it blended with my appearance, did I look good while I was carrying it around? While at the local Walmart , as nonchalantly as possible, I caught my reflection across the way on the video game displays and damn it, ...

The problem of purple fringing in my Z1 is not that great as in the review in DCRP. Good photo quality, although under-saturated in most cases Problems: To "anothercameraperson" Did you try another set of Batteries? Or try the same set of batteries on another camera?

Happy New Year - What I like about the Z1 - Long zoom (x10 optical and x4 digital - 35mm equivalent is 38mm to 380mm) - image quality very good - fast auto exposure - very light compared to a 35mm camera with zoom lenses - easy to find your way around the camera - viewfinder is accurate on close ups (unlike the optical viewfinder on older digital cameras) - good value for money, features and quality are what I expected. Although it is not perfect it suits my needs at a reasonable price - I ...

Loads of features for the money, high quality images, but cheap construction and minimal battery life make its usefulness questionable. Problems: Battery life. Once purchased, just to use them, I inserted the 4 supplied alkaline batteries. As mentioned by others, the door enabling access to the battery compartment is flimsy at best, and even with great care I don't see it holding up through years of use. (Same for the door leading to the memory card and cables jack). Especially when ...

Got it 3 days ago, been playing with it ever since. I liked how many features it had (10x optical zoom was one of them). Apart from the features, it was good to hold although maybe the zoom switch could have been closer (or infront) of the shutter release button. Moreover, when I first held it, it didn't feel very solid - more like a toy, probably could have made more parts out of metal. The lens slightly moves, however does not really seem that problematic. Very fast to startup ...

An excellent camera! All the features you could ever want, and a very usable design makes this camera excellent value for money. I would have liked slightly higher megapixels but I suppose this would change its price range. The camera has been dropped from quite a height onto a tiled floor and sustained no damage. (lens cap was on) Problems: None, focus takes a bit getting used to.

Been using it for two months now and its simply excellent, the only drawbacks have been some posts on this fourm that make you cautious and critical and over analyse something that isnt, what a pity because after comparing it to my other digital cameras (canon, kodak) its well,--- Wow. Problems: None

camera was returned after two days of use... certainly not the minolta quality that i was use to. overhaull poor quality. Problems: In less than an hour of use, the miror locked and I coul'dnt use the viewfinder any more (not an uncommond problem, I was later told !) The lens rattles, giving the impression it would eventually fall of. Lcd whitens, depending on the angle camera is held and/or the ambiant light, this, makes the viewing v-difficult. deceiving plastic body. Got myself a Nikon 5700
