After having Z1 for months, i would say it has performed up to my expectation. I've noticed most complains about the performance is due to people who just paid $300 for Z1 but expecting a $1000 type of performance. Anyway, it gives me SLR feel in handling especially the EVF, quick responce and good zoom range. Colour is a bit soft comparing to other cameras but it's natural to me. Other cameras that have sharper image give a very digital effect to the pictures and looks not real. Bottom ...

After months usage, 1000 selected photos are put in http://www.wilsonchan.com My comment is it is full of functions! The fast focusing time(at day time)and 10X optical zoom can fit your wish in taking different photos! It iincludes night scene, people, animal, plant and ... Problems: What I can say the picture quality is good and not excellent. 1.5" LCD screen is a bit small!

well, the z1 is actually the first camera that i owned. i usually delt with Epson, Canon and Olympus cams and slrs with a photography group for free. i love my z1.. it's got great handle and it's slr-like features are awesome but i've had it for a few days so i hope it's as good as others say. Problems: none yet.. the price is affordable for what its worth. the built in flash is a bit annoying but i could get used to it.

This is my 5th Digital Camera, the construction is pretty sturdy. The design is ergonomic, and fits my hands just fine. Excellent SLR features with excellent image quality. My favorite feature is the viewfinder is like-SLR where it feels like you are using a 35mm SLR camera. Additionally, an external flash can be used as well as an optional external battery pack, and optional wide angle lens kit form Minolta. Problems: Well not problems, I do with that Minolta used a universal hot shoe, or at ...

I bought this camera one month ago, and I'am still enjoying looking at beautifull pics taken by Z1. The 10x zoom is great and in normal daylight conditions you don't have to use a tripod to take a sharp picture with full telephoto. Recenty I bought the protection set contains: lens adapter, UV filter 52mm and lens cap 52mm. It makes Z1 look really professional. My Z1 pics are here: welcome.school.webpark.pl Problems: Lack of AF assist lamp, so it has a trouble focusing even when light ...

Bought this cam last week, it really rulez. No complains about it. it does every thing i expect from it, and even more. Problems: There is one small thing it would be handy if there was a UV filter possibility, for a lower price than 80 euros. Because the main reason for me to buy one is to protect the lens, and normaly a filter is about 10 euro. but now the price is almost a quarter of the camera price, and there for not usefull to me any more. it not really a problem but now i need to be ...

I bought this camera last december after reading all user opinions, and thinking "battery door troubles? I AM cautious with expensive stuff". 3 weeks later I had to carry it in because 3 of the 6 battery door closing contact points were broken... After more than 2 months (!) of reparation time ("reorganisation at Minolta") I got it back, but didn't notice that the big LCD display "window blind" was misplaced, and I couldn't read shutter times etc. Brought it in again, and 2 weeks later I ...

Maybe it's old news now, with the Z2 now out, but if you're interested, here's my take on a few Z1 factors Why did I buy it? Well the A1 was well over twice the price at the time, so being a digicam newbie I thought I'd try and learn the ropes over the winter on something that wouldn't have cost too much if I turned out not to like it. It was so reasonably priced that I could still buy a decent sized SD card, spare batteries, wide-angle converter, tripod, camera bag and something nice for the ...

This is my third digital camera. My first being a basic 1.3MP model that broke so I upgraded to the diminutive Sony DSC-U20 that I still love and carry around with me daily, but I wanted something more serious with a zoom so I decided on the Z1. I have had my Z1 for a couple of weeks now and have taken about 100 shots, all of which came out as expected. The only shots that had problems were down to large amounts of zoom and me not holding the camera still enough. I have mostly been using the ...

Great camera except LCD screen is jammed right now Problems: I have had the camera for 6 months now. The LCD screen no longer functions as the flip door is jammed and won't open up the screen. I have contacted Minolta Warranty and they said they are aware of the problem and said there is a pin in there that needs to be shortened. I have to send the camera to the HQ for warranty issue. Will advise in the future if the problem is rectified. I will be out shipping and handling and a camera for ...
