I fall in love with camera specs, I did not even see her before buy it. Lens is good, and give good results in daylight. nowadays is a really good option for her price. Problems: Manual focusing is useless, should be better say that dont carries it, needs a manual ring. Very bad low light focusing, even on not so low situations. needs IR assist urgently. She is not able to focun in many indoor situations. AF tracking too slow, only able to follow a small kid running, till 15ft far (and not ...

Well, this camera is so old now the review probably doesn't matter much anymore but here goes. I paid over $600 Canadian for this camera last February and loved it for the first month. The zoom was great, it had all the features I wanted at the time..most of the settings that my film slr had, plus the white balance, the menus were easy to follow... but just over a month after I bought it, the protective shutter for the lcd ceased to function and was stuck shut, so I returned the camera and ...

I originally bought this as a cheap little backup camera to carry around, but it is so fun to use that I can't put it down. It's fast, easy to carry and use, and offers lots of manual control. I can use my Minolta 3600HS and 5600HS flashes with it (although my oc1100 isn't compatible) Photos are surprisingly sharp and detailed. JPEG compression on the fine setting is very light and still makes a 1.5 mb (average) file. I've made 11x14 prints that look great--a real surprise for a 3.2 megapixel ...

4 for build -> a bit plastic, but feels solid 4 for features -> can do most things it should be able to do 4 for image quality -> 3 mpix, artefacts in fine detail 4.5 for ease of use -> strowl through the manual 4 for value for money -> nice camera for most users Problems: crashes sometimes low resolution ccd does NOT focus in low light. A well lit room (10 bulbs) is low light for this camera.

Ok, I've had this camera for over a year now and it has not once disappoint me. I'm really satisfied with the Z1, that's all I can say. Problems: The only thing that didn't quite work as it was supposed to was the movie sound. The sound quality is really poor, but hey I didn't buy a Digital videocam, I bought it to take great pictures with, which I have.

I had the camera for 2 months (then it was stolen, grrrr). Nice pictures, nice zoom. I'm thinking of buying the Z2, same camera, but with GT-lens, 4MP and better/faster focus. Problems: I had troubles putting my eye on the viewfinder. The viewfinder is flat on the body, it is not a few milimeter from the body, like i.e. the Canon S1 is. Or protected with some hard rubber brim. And than the mechanisme for the LCD-screen and the EVF. In the 2 months it did is work good. But it is clear to me ...

Have had the camera for a month now, after a few days, the mirror went fault. I've got a replacement camera. Pictures are great, speed is excellent, now noticeable delay when taking a picture, except when it's dark, it may take some time to focus.

After reading the other reviews on this site, I nearly did not buy this. Then I considered the value of the camera. It is not expensive. Yet it has 10X zoom (a massive 380mm 35mm equivalent). It has 6 pre-set program modes, a fully auto mode, aperature and shutter priority plus manual modes. Now thats a hell of a lot of camera for under £300. Then you have feature after feature. Little things like B and W mode, video mode, white balance, fill-in flash, superfast drive mode, bracketting, ...

sorry, bit too fast w the triggerfinger earlier. I think the overall rating in this forum is a bit too high. Sure the camera does its job in many ways, but some kind of anti-shake mecanics would be nice. its v-e-r-y easy to get a picture that's blurry, especially indoors. And for what the movie mode's concerned, even though this does not apply to the still images, 1 sec or more of sound lag is not acceptable. Problems: see above
