A good choice! The tiny metallic Minolta's Xt's build quality and durability is impressive, but I have gone one step further by purchasing a Minolta Xt full-on “PANZER-SHIELD” (a 100-feet pro-grade dive-housing!) and although this rigid acrylic box with internal shock-absorbers makes the camera a much bigger unit, it gives me complete peace-of-mind out on salty seas, under water, covered in dog-saliva, mud, sand, dust and deep in the snow and so on. Even if I do not survive, my Minolta Xt ...

Golly gosh its small and can go almost everywhere. And I am seldom without it. That said, it the pictures are not the greatest. It is very good at ISO <= 100. At ISO > 100, I find it too noisy. The firmware agrees, which means that it kicks to auto flash in pretty well-lit situations. No manual overrides. If the 1st rule of photography is "take the picture", the DiMage Xt enables that b/c it is very portable. It does TIFF, which is essential !

I have Finepix S602 and this is an excellent addition. The best ultra compact camera! Quality of pictures depends only of you - camera just followed you.

Sheer brilliance. Tough construction (see additional piece at end).Great pictures and pocketability is what made choosing between this, Pentax Optio S and Casio exz3 so tough. Also found it hard to justify to myself spending £320 sterling on a point and shoot which seems to be the high street price in UK and resigned myself to a bulkier cheaper camera. But, much as i tried to deny it, the pocketability of these brilliant pieces of design engineering is what I was after Of course i suffered ...

I have owned the Xt for a few weeks. I purchased it as my "go anywhere" camera. (I own a number of other film cameras and two digital cameras, including the wonderful Dimage 7i.) With the exception of the problems noted below, I love the camera. As others here have pointed out, it does have some capabilities the user can change, although shutter speeds and f/stops aren't among them. But since this is a point and shoot, I don't particularly miss the lack of manual control. I just want to be ...

I find this camera easy to use, small and light and just right for my little hands. I can have it with me at all times, which means no missed photo opportunities. Picture quality is good but not great when in lowlight situation, fairly passable to my taste thou. Problems: none so far - battery life is average.

A good and SMALL camera; underwater as well. Really, a good camera. Maybe not the very best image quality for a 3MP camera, but with a size lake that, with optical zoom? Understandable a bit of lens quality has to be traded off agains being able to always having your camera with you, in your jeans even. And it still has better pictures than my Olympus C220Z (2MP), and only in critical conditions does my Canon G2 (3MP) perform visibly better. And understand, the G3 is in a different league ...

Awsome camera. Light, thin, and fits in your pocket. IM F--KIN TIRED OF PEOPLE WHO CRY ABOUT ITS PICTURE QUALITY AND FLASH!!!!!! Its above average!!! This camera is made for people who dont want a 10 lbs bulge in their pockets when they carry a digital cameras. The zoom is awesome for its size, and the unlimited video capacity (only limited by the memory card size) is great. You can get this camera for $320 at Buydig.com or Butterflyphoto.com. Pretty cheap considering its many features ...

I have had this camera for more than a week and have used it extensively. I have not printed to paper but have viewed the images on many monitors and the results are great. I love the portability and features. It's so handy to always have it at my waist while traveling on vacation. I was surprised at the ease of use. A few basic controls and the rest is intuitive. I got a 128mb card right away. I didn't run out of battery power any day with lots of shooting (with LCD), reviewing, etc. ...

very cute, but that's pretty much it. Problems: long delay between button push and actual picture taken. very long delay (understand seconds) when using flash. image quality is less than average.
