Minolta DiMAGE Xi

Since 11 months, I am bringing it almost always with me. This way I found an alternate use as "make a copy" instrument for instructions inside hausholdappliances, reading of counters, how was before taking apart, documents etc. Problems: To much time lag after pushing the shutter button: hardly usable for snapshot. No focusing in dark conditions. Poor macro minimun distance. Optical viewfinder poor accuracy TIFF mode requires too much time between shoots and in reading

This is my favorite Digital Camera so far (ive owned 5) My biggest priority is picture quality and size. THis camera is so easy to use and the pictures always come out great. I use it all the time and it has lasted through everything. Very Durable. They are alot of options on lighting and adjustments to the picture quality for the experts. I really like it's small size/weight--I take it anytime/anywhere getting me shots I'd never get otherwise, it's fast start-up, colour accuracy, fill flash results in tough back-lit situations, quick battery recharging. Problems: I don't like it's auto focus in indoor lighting--it generally doesn't work. And the closest macro range of about 9 inches doesn't get me close enough to small objects.

An excellent pocket camera. Took over 1600 pictures in 4 weeks of travel (accompanied by a small notebook PC to store each day's snaps). Inconspicuous belt pouch is looking slightly worn, but I got great candid shots and adequate movie clips when no one else even had a camera handy. Bought an additional 128MB card and battery. I purchased my Minolta Dimage Xi in January 2003. It is the first digital camera that we have used. I intended to use it as a point and shoot camera and it has performed up to my expectations. I like the camera very much, especially because of its compact size which makes it easy to carry in your pocket wherever you go. It has a nice body design as well. The picture quality is also outstanding! I could get a nice printout from a service bureau for almost 35mm quality. I love it! Very nice and so little camera. I use it frequently with his submarine case MC-DG100 witch lefts 100 % features available , protects from dust and dives to 30 m. Photo quality is for me and for occasional use perfect. Results can be printed on A4 paper with nearby photo quality. A must have for divers, skiers, etc.. Problems: A bit long to switch from pictures to video. This menu could be faster.

Bought this camera to replace an Olympus C2000 Z which was an excellent camera. However, even though the Oly C2000 is not considered to be a large camera, I still found myself occasionally leaving it behind because I didn't want to be bothered with it. Portability is a delight. Very easy to use point-and-shoot out of the box. Manual is relatively complete and good. Menus are easy to use, offer considerable control of image resolution, etc. With 128 MB memory card, can hold lots of pictures, even at higher resolutions. The photos come out and print very well.
