Minolta hit it's marketing nitch right out of the ball park with this one. Light, thin, pocketable with very good image quality. I trialed a Canon S330 with this camera and the Dimage won out in pocketablility and indoor focus performance. Highly recommended. I was also very pleasantly surprised with the battery performance. It is much better than older generation mini-cameras. Wish SD was as cheap as CF but it is coming down in price and I suspect will be very competitive in the future. ...

Awesome! :) After my normal camera that i used like once a year i must say that this piece of hardware is just great. 2 months i have been shooting and carrying this little X in my pocket... just great! first my pictures were blurry and out of focus and stuff but as i found out, it was just because i had no idea how to take pictures with this fellow ;) It sure takes time to figure it out and now i must say that pictures are as good as they would with normal camera (or better!) like i said, ...

The Idea behind the camera is nothing short of excellent. It's small, handy and lightweight - just about perfect for the shirt-pocket. It's my camera no. 2. No excuse for not bringing this camera along because of the size. Problems: I don't know if they have production problems with this particular camera. A lot of users have complained about the "out-of-focus" syndrome. I too have that problem with this camera. You can't take seriously good pictures with this camera. On the image side - it's ...

Bought this camera to carry around, since my larger SLR-sized camera with lenses is sometimes unwieldy. It fits the purpose wonderfully... I've brought it in meetings, on vacation to Scotland, etc. It's amazingly portable and the quality is good for a 2 megapixel camera. The speed of start-up (no zoom to deploy) and the size are what really makes this camera shine. See this: http://www.zap.qc.ca/dimageX.jpg Problems: A redish color cast on some flash pictures. Easily corrected with the ...

i have a fuji s1-pro that i love. but i can't always have it with me. Thats where the Minolta Dimage X steps in. It fits in my pocket and I love it. It is very fast and can be tricked into taking creative photos. check some of my photos at: http://cyberaddict.deviantart.com/gallery (last 2 submissions are with the DimageX) Problems: same as everyone has said, the flash is always on by default. I rarely use flash.

Batt life is short for taking movies. OK for photos. CostCo includes an additional batt with purchase. Good deal! The 8 meg card is too small but I got a 128 SD card for less than $100. Over 700 fine quality 640x480 with that card. Download is fast and reliable. Overall very happy with the camera

Saw a post where the user said his first hundred shots were poor, which is exactly what happened to me (right up to the point where I took it back only to be patronised rigid by the assistant who took perfect shots). After that, they've all been excellent... I can't think of any reason why. This is a great camera for me. I'm not a camera buff, I just wanted to take pictures of friends. It's very quick to start and to take shots, almost silent, tiny and the battery life has been fine so ...

After a bad start (first weekend shots all needed color correction) I have grown to like the camera a lot. I am using it almost exclusively for mountaineering pictures, and its tiny size, weight and robust case are a must. I usually carry it in an external pocket of my pants and it had to withstand a few falls and slides yet. Since everyone told me battery life on ultraportable is really bad, I got a spare battery right away. Did not have to use it so far though. Taking 40-50 pictures on a ...

Exceeded my expectations of battery life and image quality, to my pleasant surprise. For a sub-compact camera, I find the flash to be more than decent. If you're looking for a VERY portable, very usable camera, look into this one. If interested, I also posted a longer review at http://www.chromewalker.com. Well designed for intuitive one-handed use. Problems: Navigating menus feels natual with the right hand, but buttons used are in two locations, below the LCD and in the top right corner ...
