After having changed from a Kodak to this Minolta I have found a vast improvement. The camera itself is a great piece of engineering for the money. Easy to set up and use it gives you great picture quality and at affordable price. I paid just under £300 for this camera on the week that it was launched. For me it was a choice between the S414 and the F200 and although the F200 had a couple more features I feel that I have made the right choice. This is a camera that I would endorse for anyone ...

This is my first digital camera and I picked a good one. I spent a long time looking for the best value. This camera goes for $400 in the stores but I got it for $300 online. It has more features than I will ever know what to do with. Clearly a camera for the more advanced photographers at a price that isn't too high. Quality is outstanding. Problems: Eats batteries in no time. I went with 1850 mAh NiMH rechargable batteries. They work well. I was slightly dissappointed with the 60 ...

I am really glad on buying this item, although there was some delivery problems. I also own Dimage S304, so I am really impressed with the improvement this camera has achieved. I just hope that the review will do justice to this camera, which S304 suffers as it was launched together with Dimage 5 and 7. Well done, Minolta !

After using a Canon A40 for a year I finally got fed up with the "soft" images that that camera put out and bought this one. I took it on vacation to south FL last week and was 100% satisfied with the sharp, in focus images. It is by far the best deal going in a 4.0 pixel camera. Problems: The usual w/ the On/Off switch and batteries.(New Alkalines carried for emergencies work fine though for 30 or so photos)

This camera takes beatutiful pictures, very crisp and clean. I was really impressed with the features it has against other cameras in its price range. 4 Mega Pixels for 315 dollars! that's truely the best deal out right now. I'm glad I held off the S404 and waited for the tweaked S414! No real problems so far besides get yourself good niMH batteries as other people say. You can see the start of my photosig gallery: http://www1.photosig.com/userphotos.php?portfolioId=86190 Problems: Only ...

S414 is certainly winner in the ‘bang for buck’ category. Image is absolutely sharp, coloring – adequate, no problems with Chromatic Aberration (did not see any complaint about CA in any of S404 users' reviews as well). I did not have any need of running images through rgb utility (as mentioned in S404 full review); – they are coming out just as stated in the review for Dimage 7i. Though using of DiMage viewer is recommended to save the original sRGB, which has more colors than standard sRGB, ...

This camera is by all means Fantastic, Image quality is unbelivable, the ease of use and the features are also something you cannot ignore, it is my second Digital still camera and I've seen and tried so many other brands and models, but I couldn't find all what I want in one single camera as this one, I recommend Monolta S414 for anyone looking at the best 4.0 megapixel digital camera. I will update my review again very soon, I may also include a sample image. Problems: You will not have ...
