I bought the wrong camera really. This is a snapshot camera but even for this purpose its performance is poor. The autofocus is absolutely useless and countless good photos have been completely ruined. I have to use manual focus for every photo which is not user friendly with the camers focussing to minimum distance every time you turn it on. Image quality is ok when in focus and the camera is strongly made. I have dropped it onto tarmac with only minor damage. Problems: Apart from the ...

Pros: Inexpensive for a 4 MegaPixel with 4x Optical Zoom Feature Rich Uses Non-Proprietary NiMh AA Batteries Feels Great In The Hand (especially on a cold day) Thankfully They've Discontinued This Model Cons: Inexpensive (Sucks people like my wife in) Battery door VERY difficult to close with batteries installed (something you'll be doing often with this model). Feels like it will quickly break off. Eats batteries for lunch but makes a great hand warmer within a couple minutes of turn on. ...

I will try to CALMLY describe what I think of this POS (S414). I just need to tell you what I think. Pictures: Great. No Complaints. Features: Great. No Complaints. Battery Life: You’ve got to be joking!! (Expensive joke) Problem: I take no more than 4 or 5 pictures, close together, say over 5 minutes and it SHUTS DOWN. WHY????? If I wait a few seconds and turn it back on, the same results. I can take THE SAME batteries and put them in my Kodak DC3400 (which is superior in almost all areas ...

I had the camera for one day and I send it back ! I can only juge the "Construction" attrinute .... may be the other attributes are excellent ! Problems: Very hight power consumtion, after 20 to 30 shots the bateries are low and the device autoamticaly shut down ..... Where is the advantage of digital camera if any 30 shots you have to buy or charge new bateries ! My advice: do not buy this camera if you dont have a nuclear power generator in your pocket !

Camera worked okay initially, but started to have some issues. The lens assembly is constantly extruding and retracting, even when just doing file transfers. Body is not full metal, and as noted, the lens cap tends to break easily. Problems: Mostly with Minolta customer support see the following link for details: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/a.wirtz12/minolta/Minolta.html

Sending the camera to Minolta Digital Repair center today. Problems: After 2 months and 2 days of the purchase of our Minolta DiMage S414, the camera completely defected. First, we thought it was a battery problem because the camera powered off without warning. We charged and replaced batteries. The camera then produced various error codes. Now it does not take photos with the flash turned on. We also noticed indoor quality is very poor. Unfortunately it is 32 days past the date we are ...

I can't trust this camera. 30% of the indoor photos I take are out of focus even though the in-focus lights tell me everything is OK. The camera gets hot when it is on for 45 minutes or longer. I have taken 30000 photos with my Nikon 990 before it went dead. I am taking this camera back and getting something I can trust Problems: The first day I had the camera, the flashcard which came with the camera, heated up so hot, it buzzed(the flash card made noise) and gave me wavey lines on the ...

Returned it within a day. Based on review from this forum and some other sites I desided to save some money and buy this camera. How wrong I was. Read the problems I had. Next day I replaced it to Canon G3 (400$Can more), but after using two cameras within two days, I would say you can not even compare them. Canon is better in every detail and feature. Problems: The major problem: after shooting about 100 pics and downloading it on PC, I found that pics from 60 to 70 have white or red or blue ...
