Fantastic Camera. Especially for the low price. Ergonomic, lots of features, lots of accesories(also, the threading on the inside of the lens implies to me that there are more accesories to come). Feels solid in hand, control are for the most part extremely intuitive. Zoom is exceptional, digital zoom gives you that extra close up for difficult shooting. *shot to shot time extremely fast compared to other models(above and below it). Seems like a bit of a fluke that such an economically ...

This camera takes beatutiful pictures, very crisp and clean. I was really impressed with the features it has against other cameras in its price range. 4 Mega Pixels for 315 dollars! that's truely the best deal out right now. I'm glad I held off the S404 and waited for the tweaked S414! No real problems so far besides get yourself good niMH batteries as other people say. You can see the start of my photosig gallery: http://www1.photosig.com/userphotos.php?portfolioId=86190 Problems: Only ...

I really have been impressed with this camera. It is very easy to operate and takes beautiful pictures. Dollar for dollar it has to be one of the best values out there. Just throw away the alkalines and use NiMH. Problems: The only complaint is the power-on switch, which is very light to the touch. When putting the S414 back in my case, it sometimes comes on by itself.

I shopped long and hard, compared features, and thought hard about what was really, really important to me. And I really have a winner here! My first SLR was a Minolta 30 years ago, but I've since gecome a Nikon man, and I do favor the Coolpix line of digital cameras, but especially when price is considered, the Dimage S414 stands all alone when compared to it's nearest feature competitors: the Nikon 4300, and 4500, the Olympus 4000, and the Canon S45 and G3. All of these are excellent 4 ...

S414 is certainly winner in the ‘bang for buck’ category. Image is absolutely sharp, coloring – adequate, no problems with Chromatic Aberration (did not see any complaint about CA in any of S404 users' reviews as well). I did not have any need of running images through rgb utility (as mentioned in S404 full review); – they are coming out just as stated in the review for Dimage 7i. Though using of DiMage viewer is recommended to save the original sRGB, which has more colors than standard sRGB, ...

This camera is by all means Fantastic, Image quality is unbelivable, the ease of use and the features are also something you cannot ignore, it is my second Digital still camera and I've seen and tried so many other brands and models, but I couldn't find all what I want in one single camera as this one, I recommend Monolta S414 for anyone looking at the best 4.0 megapixel digital camera. I will update my review again very soon, I may also include a sample image. Problems: You will not have ...

Seems to be a good overall camera. Sound during mini movie is poor. I am going to try out the sony dscp9 later this week. There are some porblems with the particular camera that I bought. The camera has occasional periods where it refuses to recognise the memory card. I am going to also tryout another of these cameras to see if it was this one in partiucular. Battery life with the AA's is so short. I cant emphasize that enough. But the picture quality is great I think! Very sharp!! -- ...

I JUST GOT THIS CAMERA FROM J&R MUSIC FOR $359.00 THATS CHEAPER THAN THE S404 WAS WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT.. ITS THE SAME CAMERA. THE PICTURES ARE VERY CLEAR , AND USING IT IS SIMPLE ALSO. THE MANUAL MODE GIVES YOU BETTER PICTURES SOMETIMES THAN AUTO DOES, WITH THE ISO SETTING AND SO ON.I LOOKED AT THE G3 AND DIMAGE 7I AND WOULD HAVE GOT ONE OF THOSE BUT THE PRICE WAS WAY TO HIGH COMPARED TO THE S414 . DOWNLOAD TIME IS QUICK, AND SHOT TO SJOT IS ALSO FAST. THE FLASH WORKS GREAT . I WISH THEY ...
