This was one of my many digital cameras. Previous cameras: Fuji-DX10, Casio QV-3000, Sanyo-SX550, Canon Pro90, Olympus C-4040, Nikon 800, Minolta 7Hi. Now I have the Nikon 800, 2 Megapixel, 1999 generation and the Minolta 7Hi. I took Minolta S414 with high expectation and finally I was disappointed. Good things: good quality lens, use AA Ni-MH and CF. Very good image quality from time to time. Price is very good. Zoom range good. But here the good things stops. Problems: What I don?t like: - ...

I have used a Olympus C 1 for a couple of years now. And it did it's work as well as U can expect from such a small digi cam. But I wanted more pixels and above all a nice zoom! So I used several hours to read about different digi cams. But most of the ones I wanted, whas too expensive. Then I ran into Minolta Dimage 414! But when reading about the features, I got somewhat suspicious. How come that such a lowprice cam, could have all these things that U only find on far more expensive cams? ...

Problems: I take 4 or 5 shots and the batteries conk out, just like BillS770. Kenny547 says BillS770 doea not know what he is talking about. If so, Kenny547 knows something I don't know. News, e-mail from Konica-Minolta told me to return my camera to them to be repaired.

BillS770 does not know what he is talking about. The battery life with alkaline is not good. Yes i know, but with rechargeable batteries i have no problem at all filling up a 256 mb card up all the way. Minolta products have always been good and dont have too many flaws. This is a point and shoot camera.. like many others. Is put together well and is very inexpensive. I recomend it to anyone who wants to get into photograhy for a inexpensive price. DO THE WORDS CHEAP AND WORKS MEAN ...

I will try to CALMLY describe what I think of this POS (S414). I just need to tell you what I think. Pictures: Great. No Complaints. Features: Great. No Complaints. Battery Life: You’ve got to be joking!! (Expensive joke) Problem: I take no more than 4 or 5 pictures, close together, say over 5 minutes and it SHUTS DOWN. WHY????? If I wait a few seconds and turn it back on, the same results. I can take THE SAME batteries and put them in my Kodak DC3400 (which is superior in almost all areas ...

Great digital camera. I have bought my Minolta S414 one year after I have been using Olympus C-740 UZ. This Minolta is the really preatty 4 Mpxl camera with outstanding GT zoom lens. The shooted outdoors and indoors pictures are so pretty. The camera has no shutter lag (Olympus C 740 UZ has big delay time, specially at poor light have problem to right foccus). The design and construction's aspects are enough good. The solid, durable, all metal made case. The 4 x zoom GT lens are working ...

I think this is a very good camera, an incredible deal for this money, with some little annoyance. The camera's design could be better. Sometimes the grip of the camera isn't too comfortable. I like it's metal body, but I would more liked a thicker black colored magnesium than the aluminium. I have broken my camera a month ago, the alu body wasn't too stable :-(. But good news for s414 owners: I'll surely buy another s414 (while I'm waiting for the minolta DSLR). The picture quality is ...

This camera's strong suit is its value for the money. There are few others in the price/size range with equal image quality. I've used it now for several months, and images are excellent (taking into account expectations for a camera in this class). Color balance and saturation rarely need adjustment in final processing, whether taken in natural light or with the built-in flash. Changing the configuration is relatively quick and easy. Macro photos are unusually good for a camera in this ...

Great camera. Have had no problems other than the typical battery eating. Great fun to just pick up and snap away. I personally like to stick to the highest quality picture setting, that's not TIFF. Problems: None.
