Minolta DiMAGE S304

1 year with S304. I want another Minolta...After comparing many camera reviews, I decided about the S304. I'm so safisfied with it's quality on auto or manual settings. I use it almost all times with the manual focus and aperture and got some awesome pictures. I've been compared it with my bother's Canon and friend's Sony with the same 3.3MP and found my S304 much better (they agree). Problems: I wish the auto focus was faster. I'm dreaming now on the Dimage 7Hi. No problems at all.

I did a thorough research for about a month before deciding on buying this camera. What really turn me on this camera was the fact that it was compared with Nikon Coolpix 995. I have been using my S304 for over one year now and I have used a couple of comparable Kodak and Fuji digicams, so this is balanced comment. Overall I quite like the S304 and have no complaints about image quality which is at least as good, if not better than I expected. This is a great little camera! You get great quality images, compressed nicely into small size Jpeg files. These images are the best I have seen from a 3.2 mega pixcel camera - and belive me - I've seen a lot! I shopped around to find the best one - and in my opinion - this is it! I purchased the camera from www.dabs.com 2 weeks ago, what stands out with this camera the most is Value for money, manual and auto settings, find another 3+ mega pixel camera for the same price. I have printed 10x8 prints, they look better and sharper than any 35mm I have used. The Minolta S404 was my second digital camera. The 4 megapixel pictures were amazing using the auto mode. The manual mode was easy to navagate and also gave great results. If it had not been for the problem I encountered I would have been proud of the camera. After several weeks I returned it for a refund. I've now had this camera (my 3rd digital) for about 6 months. Generally it's OK for a 3MP digicam, however, a number of problems/features mean I'll probably be looking for a replacement soon. Excellent optics (Minolta GT lens is just awesome!), I've managed to take some great wideangle shots, have a look at www.pbase.com/jimbourekas.
