I hate this camera!!!! Problems: The camera is too slow. If you move even the slightest bit the pics are blurred. If the subject moves even the slightest bit the pics are blurred. The flash comes on all the time. Battery life is not sufficient. The picture quality is terrible. This is our first digital camera and we bought it on the salesmans suggestions. We liked the size and ease of use but nothing else. We really didn't know what to buy and were not aware of this site until recently. We ...

This camera delivers poor picture quality. It is immediatley noticable after the first few pics. It does not deliver focus shots, no matter how steady I try to hold it. Very poor shots in indoor low lighting situations. Also if the subjects moves skightly it delivers blur pics. Flaash comes on in almost all indoor pics. Nice construction. easy to use, but very poor features. Will return to dealer if I can for a Sony DSC-V1. I already have a Sony P1 and 717, both cameras deliver great ...

Absolutely the most pleasing images for a sub $400 digi- cam PERIOD. I could not be more pleased and I also want to thank Jim C. for all his useful tips. As a newbie I was tempted to go the "safe" route and buy a sony cybershot but I'm glad I took the plunge and went with the Minolta. Picture quality is amazing!! Problems: none

I have red more than 900MB of reviews and photos before buying this camera so I've decided to choose this one. I had a Minolta Dimage Xt but I wasn't completely satisfied so I have sold it after my long research of a better camera. What I like: it is the best 5MP in resolution (you can compare its photos with those taken with other cameras on www.steves-digicams.com), is cheep, small and nice. There is a photo on the Steves site that I love for comparing all the cameras ...

Strengths: very compact, durable, high image quality, ease of use, portable, Weaknesses: shortage of battery life Summary: (Edited January 21st by Wang Yuan from Beijing) I v used it for about 1 months and have taken about 1000 pics with it. i m satisfied with my purchase. I havent read the manual since I had used it for so long, while everthing is so obviously, and you dont need to bothering the manual or the cd included. The built in flash is also very good, but a little too strong, since i v ...

I'm very pleased with this camera thus far. I'm new to the digital arena but have always enjoyed taking good pictures with quality equipment. A few of my past cameras were Nikormat FT-2. & Nikon L35 AF. I now classify myself as a snapshot photographer and wanted a compact easy to use sturdy piece of equipment that produced quality images. My initial choices were the Cannon S400 and the Minolta G500. I think what swayed me though was the overall value and the enthusiastic reviews given ...

In August 2003, I bought a Minolta S404. I was terribly disappointed in it (especially battery life) so I returned it; and a month or so later I replaced it with the G500. What a difference! This camera is small, light, and has a wonderful battery life. The camera is easy to use, and the photos are outstanding. Two weeks ago, I played golf at Pebble Beach, and this camera is small & sturdy enough that I carried it in my golf bag, without worrying that it would be damaged; and I used it to ...

I am a 35mm guy, who was looking for a pocket size digital camera. I spent about 2 months reading reviews and handling just about every model you can name. In the end I chose the G-500. With a camera this size, there are some compromises, in controls and features. However for $300 this camera outperforms its closest competitors that I would have paid $200 more for. Don't buy the $79 or $39 extra batteries. The three major points that sold me are the time of start up which is lower than ...

I am new to digital photography and this is my first digital camera. I have shot just under 200 pictures so far. It is easy to use. The buttons seem small at first but you will adapt (and I have big fingers). The display screen is excellent. The camera turns on and off very quickly. It does, however take 1 second to take a picture (must depress and hold button)... this presents difficulty when taking action shots. You must plan ahead. Push the button half way down to set the focus then ...

Oh My GOD! Thank you Jim for recommending this camera as highly as you did. I just recieved my camera today which I puchased on-line at buydig.com. I am new to digital photography but I must tell you this tiny camera is a blast. It is so easy to use. Open and shoot. I also have been playing with the manual modes and having a blast. I have taken several hundred pictures in all different modes with great success. I can't begin to tell you the fun I am having. One thing I noticed with my ...
