I returned this camera after 4 days of use Problems: - Battery life is TERRIBLE with LCD on! - Zoon is extremely SLOOOOW. - Camera is noisy, in the Auto mode the lens has this annoying grinding noise. - Camera gets extremely HOT with LCD on. - Optical viewfinder is 80% of actual view, and at close range it is notoriously misaligned.

Good camera, but 2 major problems Problems: 1. Battery life very poor, and cannot recharge batteries without buying a separate recharger 2. I got an error where I can see pics fine on the camera but not when I attach the camera or the SD card to my PC. Very very frustrating!

Great Camera! It has a solid feel with the two new rubber grips on the front and back. The new round dial for the optical zoom feels a lot more natural over the push buttons on the F100/F300. There are a few new improvements over the F100/F300 that make it a better deal, even though the F300 is only $30-$40 more. Minolta has a weird way of releasing model numbers. F100 to F300, then finally F200..? The zoom feels very slow. I get bored between the time it takes the camera to zoom from ...

I guess I was one of the first in the UK to get my hands on this one and have taken the best part of 800 photos since on various expeditions to the Alps. I have read other user comments and feel that I must point out a few facts. 1) Yes the camera locks up - annoying. But after re-reading the instruction manual closely and playing around the "problem" has elimiated itself! DO NOT try to use normal AA batteries (as stated in the manual) this causes the "lock-up" problems as they cannot deliver ...

I have tested this camera along with Panasonic's latest models. My overall impression of Minolta's F200 is very poor for the following reasons: The camera is very noisy. The start up is slow ... not good for snap shots. The focusing is very slow. Have problem focusing in low light. The batteries drain very quickly and the camera get hot fast. I would highly recommend the 3.2 Mp Panasonic DMC-LC33 or the similar twin 4.0 Mp Panasonic DMC-LC43. It is smaller and lighter eventhough it also ...

I don't find my 10-days old F200 has slow zoom. In fact, I need slower optical zooming. Every picture is fine, indoor and outdoor. If any picture is ugly, it must be the setting or I could not hold the camera still. Without understanding all from manual book, at first, I found it difficult. Unlimited video with sound is nice for fun and surprises. Problems: - I must admit, the battery life is not satisfied. But, carrying 2 AA batteries make the camera lighter than other camera with same size, ...

I cannot belief for having this camera for 1 year already. I still have no problem with zooming. But it starts rather slow to catch a fast event. I am now mastering all settings, except manual ones. Overall, I satisfied with everything on it. Oh, I have already settled battery fast draining in display mode. I purchased a rechargable CR-V3 battery (RCR-V3). Taiwan made, expensive (approx. USD 38 incl. charger), but long time service, not blank display after flash which was common with NiMH ...

I have used this one for about 2 weeks. Will be returning it. First the good: Construction (except the battery and card doors, which are rather flimsy), and 3.9 mp. Unfortunately, that's about it. Mind you, high mp's don't always mean quality picture. Minolta's pictures are one of the noisiest ones I have seen in this price range, even with the noise reduction turned on (frankly, the difference is near impossible to tell). Even more annoying is the clipping of luminosity. This is when your ...

Very nice camera! Absolutely amazing is the undocumentated super macro mode wich lets you focus down to 0.5cm in wide angle (gives a picture that covers approx. 1.5cm in width) . Unfortunately you can not choose it from the menu, but have a look at the minolta forum, where you can find a describtion how to enter it... Problems: the blue version looks very strange, but the silver edition has a very nice look - although I wish instead of the brown plastic there would be a higher quality ...

Hello, I bought the F200 a little over a month ago. It 's my first digital camera, and the criteria for my choice were : - Compact - At least 3 MP and 3x optical zoom - max. price 600 Euro, preferably less than 500 Euro - Easy Point and click, but manual options for museums and such. - And naturally I wanted the best quality of photos I can get for the price. The search was agonizing because so many cameras fit the first four criteria. Finally, my choice was based on sample photos. Within ...
